Ron Paul Wins in Iowa and Minnesota, Romney in a Panic :P

By Doug Wead

Ron Paul supporters surged to victory in yesterday’s Minnesota and Iowa district conventions, dominating the process and picking up more delegates to the Republican National Convention. As reported last week, a number of Romney Hawks are now deeply concerned that Ron Paul has already laid the groundwork for similar success in six more caucus states. Yesterday’s results will only increase their influence inside the Romney camp.

Romney advisers are concerned that the rising total of Ron Paul delegates will lead to an unmanageable RNC. Some observers felt that the 1992 convention hurt an incumbent president George H. W. Bush and was a factor in his loss to Bill Clinton.

In most states, victories at the district conventions decide who will move onto the state conventions where most of the delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa will be selected.

The rules in Minnesota are slightly different and some of those final delegates were actually selected at scattered district conventions yesterday. Reports from our own Marianne Stebbins in Minnesota show that Ron Paul now has 20 out of the 24 delegates already chosen to represent the state at the Republican National Convention in Tampa and the campaign is poised to do just as good at the upcoming state convention, May 18-19, when the final 13 will be chosen.

In Iowa, Jennifer Jacobs, a reporter for the Des Moines Resister, broke into open what had been our little secret, namely, the takeover of the GOP in Iowa. “A rising tide of Republicans who share Ron Paul’s philosophy of limited government are flooding into GOP party roles in Iowa,” Jennifer wrote, reporting on yesterdays Iowa district conventions.

Actually, it is a phenomenon seen all across the country. It is viewed by many political observers as the biggest transformation of the Republican Party since 1988, when evangelical Christians joined the process and dominated state positions for a whole generation.

While the Iowa Ron Paul campaign is keeping its cards close to the vest, we all got a sneak peak from an the Des Moines Register story which reported that six of the new Iowa GOP state central committee members elected Saturday have publicly expressed support for Ron Paul. Joes Kurtinitis, Kris Thiessen, Dave Cushman, Jeff Shipley, John Kabitzke and Marcus Fedler. “Two more,” Jennifer Jacobs reports, “have close ties.” The new state chairman is also a Ron Paul supporter, who served as a co-chairman for the congressman’s Iowa state organization.

The Iowa state GOP convention is set for Jun 16, 2012.

Meanwhile, the sleepy New York Times has posted for five months and still posts, even today, that the total delegate count for Ron Paul in Iowa is one. They say that the total delegate count for Ron Paul in Minnesota is nine. In fact, Ron Paul supporters will now dominate both state conventions. And the same trend is ongoing in states across the country.

Ron Paul can't win, so this is just an ego play on his part. Why he wants to help Obama by taking down Romney is beyond me. I think he's nuts.

Considering that Obama has been continuing many policies that Bush enacted (Wars, bailouts, debt ceiling, invading privacy/taking away freedom through the Patriot Act, etc.) , I see little difference between the two. I also see Romney as an extension of Obama and Bush policies. So, a vote for Romney is a vote for Obama.

You ever wonder why no matter if there is an R or a D in the White House, public policy largely stays the same from one administration to the next, sans a few differences here and there, but never anything major.

So, Ron Paul gets my vote in November even if I have to write in his name. He promises change. I want change. He is change from the same old corrupt politicians that receive the same donations from the same banks and wealthy elite.

No One But Paul

Romney = patriot act, NDAA, SB347, and a police state. Do you vote for that?

Then shut that Romney lovin' rhetoric on down.

A vote for Romney means you like where Obama is taking this nation but you want someone else to show you the way.

Ron Paul is the only way back to the constitution.

Get some guts people act like your fore fathers did fight for your nation or become slaves to the NWO.

I will not under any circumstance vote for Capt Flip Flop.( I will write in Ron Paul)

Get behind Ron Paul or you will deal with Obama for four more years.

It is time Romney supporters use their candidates favorite move and do the Romney Flip Flop

DON'T VOTE JUST TO GET OBAMA OUT. VOTE FOR AMERICA VOTE FOR RON PAUL.( WE OWE THIS TO OUR CHILDREN )

Thanks loco01, the world needs more people like you who are willing to go against the status quo to do the right thing. Your forefathers would be proud!

Yes, very admirable, however, a vote for anyone besides the Republican "political machine's" choice is a vote for your grandchildren's non-voluntary allegiance to the United Socialist States of America party! God help us if Barry is reelected.

huh? Didn't Romney and the majority of Republicans vote for the bailouts, to raise the debt ceiling, extension of unemployment benefits, extended funding for wars and new wars, take away freedom by the Patriot Act and other laws that target citizens? so, what exactly is the difference between the Romney and Obama exactly especially considering that Romney mandated healthcare in Massachusetts?

So, it seems that it is the republican establishment and Romney that are non-voluntary allegiance to the United Socialist States of America, or if you prefer, the non-voluntary United Bankers and Bought Out Politicians of America.

George Bush laid the foundation for the police state that Obama is now implementing, and the conservatives/Christians/Republican voters were fast asleep because "one of them" was steering the ship. When Clinton was there, they were trying to fight him tooth and nail, even though that treasonous Newt Gingrich sold them that phony bill of goods he called "The Contract with America" which was supposed to be everything the conservatives wanted, but turned out to be hot air and Bravo Sierra.

So, even though I don't doubt that another 4 years of Obama, would probably do this country more harm than 4 years of Romney, I believe that having an openly Muslim fascist traitor at the helm has one advantage over anyone other than Ron Paul: the conservative electorate will probably not go back to sleep, but will continue to fight as best they can, and try to wake up more of the other slumbering sheep.

Every president of the U.S. since Kennedy, has been made well aware that if he doesn't do what his "handler" (i.e. the guy that channels orders from the Rothschild bunch in Europe, to the president of the U.S.) tells him to, he will end up like Kennedy and Lincoln.

It's better to know who and where your enemies are, than to have someone you mistakenly think is your best buddy, but who is really your worst enemy.

Ummmm........not hardly!

The day the democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007 the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.

The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

For those who are listening to the liberals propagating the fallacy that everything is "Bush's Fault", think about this:

January 3rd, 2007 was the day the Democrats took over the Senate and the Congress. At the time:

The DOW Jones closed at 12,621.77

The GDP for the previous quarter was 3.5%

The Unemployment rate was 4.6%

George Bush's Economic policies SET A RECORD of 52 STRAIGHT MONTHS of JOB GROWTH

Remember the day... January 3rd, 2007 was the day that Barney Frank took over the House Financial Services Committee and Chris Dodd took over the Senate Banking Committee.

The economic meltdown that happened 15 months later was in what part of the economy? BANKING AND FINANCIAL SERVICES!

Unemployment... to this CRISIS by (among MANY other things) dumping 5-6 TRILLION Dollars of toxic loans on the economy from YOUR Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac FIASCOES!

Bush asked Congress 17 TIMES to stop Fannie & Freddie - starting in 2001 because it was financially risky for the US economy.

And who took the THIRD highest pay-off from Fannie Mae AND Freddie Mac? OBAMA

And who fought against reform of Fannie and Freddie?

OBAMA and the Democrat Congress

So when someone tries to blame Bush...

REMEMBER JANUARY 3rd, 2007.... THE DAY THE DEMOCRATS TOOK OVER!"

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress and the party that has controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party.

Furthermore, the Democrats controlled the budget process for 2008 & 2009 as well as 2010 &2011.

In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases.

For 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi & Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete 2009.

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets.

If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself. In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

Mitt took all 5 states last night, it's over. Now the GOP needs to come together and get Obama out of office! Anything but a vote for who ever gets the nod, in this case it will be Mitt, although he's not my favorite, will be a vote for the opposition!
