wpsmit and easyrider, I understand your hesitation with WARKA but how much money are you talking about for the potential reward. Buying IQD in Iraq is about $820.00 per million. These Dinar have no denomination affiliation because they are electronic Dinar. There aren't any guaranties anywhere with this investment. I hold physical Dinar as well, but if your 25,000 dinar notes get cashed out at next to nothing where's the gain? Just covering all the bases. To some people $500.00 is a lot of money, (roughly the minimum to open an account) me included, you also can't invest directly in the ISX without an account and a trading number. It's worth the risk IMO.

Just because they are suspended doesn't mean they are going out of business. I understand this, but I have heard a few other reports of partial assets of WARKA being seized and most customers locally cannot withdraw their money. It seems like a lot of Banks in Iraq are in some sort of trouble. I've put in a few inquiries regarding other Iraqi banks (still trading), that i might be able open an account with. Transferring the funds and having WARKA comply most surely will be an issue but it's worth a look. I'd hate to lose the benefit of these electronic Dinar with an RV and I don't want to jump to conclusions too quickly either. It's a wait and see!

Just looking at this report it's hard to make heads or tails. Many of the larger banks with the greatest Market Cap are suspended. Go figure. WARKA is by no means the largest bank but they have a market cap of 81 Million. Bank of Bagdad has a market cap of 340 Million and they are suspended as well along with others with fairly large market cap. Sounds political to me. I wonder how this effects WARKA's brokerage. I have a trading number maybe I should invest all the money in Stocks that way it's out of the banks hands.

Unfortunately I cannot access this link without signing up as a member of the news site. I don't really know how credible all this bad news on WARKA is but I'm wondering if anybody has access to another Iraqi Bank (More Stable) that we may be able to transfer funds over into. Not that WARKA would comply or even be able to. My reasoning is that these funds are electronic so we might be able to open another account and transfer the funds. Any thoughts?

Just wondering what the schedule is for interest payments on existing Warka Accounts? I've had an account for only about three or four months. Apparently they don't pay interest on a monthly basis.

We need to get rid of the Income Tax on everybody and go to a consumption Tax. That way everybody pays a little bit as they consume. Right now 50% of the population pays nothing and all the Large Corp. like G.E. know all the loopholes and pay nothing after making Billions. The G.E. CEO Jeffrey Imelt is "O's" Jobs Czar. What a Joke! he just sent the X-Ray division to China with all those Jobs. Buffet is senile, IMO.

Sorry Emily but it sounds like your trying to justify your vote for O-bummer. Anybody who didn't see this coming is spending too much time watching NBC, CBS and CNN and yes even FOX. The FED is a PRIVATE ENTITY they are not accountable to anyone. Your Exactly Correct LSIHawk the Banking elite own our Government. To them another Mansion or another Queen Elizabeth size Private Yatch doesn't make any difference to them anymore, It's all about controlling the world population. Entities like the IMF, the Vatican for all you Church goer's, the Federal Reserve are all about setting up Central Banks for the Fall. They're doing it in Iraq right now.
