  7. Bama, praying for your son right now and praying God calms you and holds true to your faith.. everything is going to go well with your son's surgery. Please keep us updated on well he does. Buti
  8. Romney, should have used this for his campaign!
  9. Gm, yota. Kurdistan was to stop pumping oil today, unless it's foreign companies were paid. Mybe HCL will pass and eveyone's money will start flowing.
  10. My opinion is..... we need a Dirty Harry (not Harry embasile Reid), up there to clean house.
  11. Thanks jonjon. I love Ron Paul. The reality of our times is that the majority of people are not ready to here the truth. So I choose to pick between the two candidates allowed by our political consequence. I love this country. I believe Romney is a good man. I pray he wins. I think he wants our country to succeed. I also will say for our country to economically succeed it's going to be hard time for a lot of people. It's going to be a scarry dangerous time when entitlements are cut.
  12. I have been having this feeling like I can't breathe because of the knowledge of the impending economic doom of our country. I'm in the process of trying to move into hard assetts but, it takes time. I feel we have maybe until late October until the majority of the public wake up to the financial reality of the future of our country . Once the masses realize our position it will be too late. Thanks for the post LS1Hawk.
  13. Thanks Socal. for the post. I hope I have another few weeks to move my money into hard assetts before the public realizes what happening. When we the US are buying our own bonds, it proves the currency supply is contracting and major inflation is in our near future. We are printing money. It amazes me that the majority of people are blind to the consequeces of these actions. I pray I have enough time to get things done.
  14. Thanks Brisco. Shred sounds a lot like Scooter. This conversation by Scooter in May, from the same site, and now Shreds perspective alignment gives me hope [scooter-EG] Phase two takes them to the next steps with further infrastructure, transactional systems (smart cards), and deeper tools for the bonds, stocks, etc.... [scooter-EG] Here's some more [scooter-EG] As noted above, private banks operate on an uneven playing field. An immediate priority should be to announce the removal of all impediments for private banks [scooter-EG] in doing business with the government and state owned enterprises. Given some concerns over the strength of private banks, some elements, such as the size of letters of credits, could be phased in over a period of two years (but preannounced) to permit enhancement of the effectiveness of banking supervision to take hold as well as some consolidation of the banking system following the increase in minimum capital levels. [scooter-EG] It is clear that this potential expansion of private banks’ business opportunities entails keen vigilance on the part of the banking supervision department of the CBI to ensure the safety and soundness of the private banks. [scooter-EG] Now [scooter-EG] that's a mouthful right there [scooter-EG] Now [scooter-EG] that's a mouthful right there [scooter-EG] but lets take a look at what they are saying versus our last chat [scooter-EG] if you remember from the last two weeks of chats [scooter-EG] we talkedf about the "Re-Booting" of those government banks [scooter-EG] and two [scooter-EG] the bond markets fueling the future governments liquidity [scooter-EG] so let's talk about that for a second [scooter-EG] Who is the primary bond market in Iraq [scooter-EG] well [scooter-EG] it's those SOE's that the World Bank is talking about above [scooter-EG] the large pension funds [scooter-EG] the utility companies [scooter-EG] the Insurance companies [scooter-EG] These have been state owned enterprises for decades [scooter-EG] now -- the question will be which ones out of the 108 SOE's will become privatized and why? [scooter-EG] the seecond item is the statement regarding the CBI [scooter-EG] the CBI will require the safety and soundness of the private banks [scooter-EG] Now -- why did i bring that up? [scooter-EG] Here's why -- give me thirty seconds [scooter-EG] http://cbi.iq/documents/ ••• s.EN.pdf [scooter-EG] sorry [scooter-EG] I had to find the data [scooter-EG] now that document [scooter-EG] it defines some special rules of engagement for the private banks [scooter-EG] and part of those special rules include having proper captial levels [scooter-EG] in order to bank and loan money to SME's [scooter-EG] small to medium sized businesses [scooter-EG] So ok [scooter-EG] why is that important to this whole modification [scooter-EG] well -- remember what we said two weeks ago about Consumption being a critical component of any changes [scooter-EG] Iraq needs to form capitol in that country and do it fast [scooter-EG] they intend to build over one million houses [scooter-EG] and build the agriculture businesses up [scooter-EG] they have infrastructure to continue to build [scooter-EG] etc.... etc.... [scooter-EG] ok -- so how's there existing banks going to do this? [scooter-EG] well what they put in the ordinance documents pretty much states that Iraqi banks will need to meet certain capitol reserves to play in this endevour [scooter-EG] and they will need to increase their capitol [scooter-EG] and the only way they do this is if they go out to the BIG money plays like Suisse Bank, Barclays, BofA, Chase, etc... [scooter-EG] because they will be able to leverage up to 300% of their assets on all the loans [scooter-EG] that's enormouse leverage for these loans [scooter-EG] Imagine BofA [scooter-EG] they do approx. 1 trillion a year [scooter-EG] I wonder what their assets are [scooter-EG] alot [scooter-EG] a whole bunch [scooter-EG] so what you'll see in the coming months [scooter-EG] in my opinion is a much stronger influx of those larger banks partnering with the banks in Iraq [scooter-EG] what will occur will be a tornado of loans and business excchange [scooter-EG] when this occurs -- the dominos follow -- and the middle class begins (embryonicly) to form [scooter-EG] they need a strong Stochastic Cloud of Transactions to occur in order to bring life to the economy again. [scooter-EG] WOW -- now that's a rant [scooter-EG] ok -- i'm done
  15. Sounds like a push to become Basel III compliant and maybe stabalize the value of their reserves.
  16. Gm yota. This is the news I've been waitinf for. Talibani is back and meeting with Barzani. Now hopefully we will see good news come from this meeting.
  17. Brandy, I have read and studied Peter Schiff. He is dead on in my estimation of where we are in the Debt Crisis. I first heard about him on Coast to Coast. This is an amazing 3+ hour audio. It opened my eyes big time. Thanks for the post. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BVbvSmVHgGQ Check this guy out too. http://goldsilver.com/video/debt-collapse-20-000-gold-mike-maloney/
  18. Gm yota, thank you for posting this. I was trying to find information about this meeting yesterday evening. Wow, Ban Ki has to be one of the craziest bravest men alive to stand on Iranian soil and make those statements. I know there was some controversy over his attendance, and I'm sure there are meetings going on behind closed doors in which he is not privy. Morsi also did not allign either. http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Middle_East/NH31Ak03.html
  19. Umbertino, I can tell you the following statement is a huge lie. He has completely destroyed the Space Program here in Texas. Now that could be because of his hatred for Rick Perry, This comment/lie sickens me to think of the people who will read it and believe he is speaking the truth. i know this first hand he is not telling the truth. i look at the people who lost their jobs evey day because he dissolved the space program here where I live. I guarantee Niel Armstrong is rolling over right now. Obama responded to the top-voted question first. Reddit user ormirian asked, "Are you considering increasing funds to the space program?" Obama responded: Making sure we stay at the forefront of space exploration is a big priority for my administration. The passing of Neil Armstrong this week is a reminder of the inspiration and wonder that our space program has provided in the past; the curiosity probe on mars is a reminder of what remains to be discovered. The key is to make sure that we invest in cutting edge research that can take us to the next level - so even as we continue work with the international space station, we are focused on a potential mission to a asteroid as a prelude to a manned Mars flight.
  20. Defying western isolation, Iran opens NAM conference By REUTERS 08/26/2012 12:58 Tehran assumes three-year presidency of Non-Aligned Movement summit; in opening address Iranian FM Salehi says he hopes for solidarity against sanctions; Syria likely to dominate agenda, divide participants. Photo: REUTERS/Enny Nuraheni DUBAI - Iran welcomed a group of 120 developing nations on Sunday to a summit it says proves that Washington has failed to isolate it from the rest of the world. Opening the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) meeting in Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said he hoped for a show of solidarity against sanctions the West has imposed to punish Iran for its nuclear activities. Related: Fayyad: Iranian invitation to Hamas 'undermines unity'PA: Iran did not invite Hamas PM to NAM conference"The non-aligned (movement) must seriously oppose ... unilateral economic sanctions which have been enacted by certain countries against non-aligned countries," Salehi told the summit's opening session. Western diplomats have sought to downplay the importance of the summit and the start of Iran's three-year presidency of NAM, a body set up in 1961 to counter big power domination of international relations. But 80 countries are participating in the summit at the level of minister or higher, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, with 50 sending their heads of government. And the expected attendance of big players including UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and Egypt's new president, Mohammad Morsy - the first Egyptian leader to visit Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution - will give the meeting diplomatic heft. Since the toppling of Egypt's Western-backed President Hosni Mubarak last year, non-Arab Iran has hoped for a thaw in relations with the regional power, but Cairo has appeared less eager to embrace Shi'ite Muslim Iran which is viewed with suspicion by its Sunni Gulf Arab neighbours. "The presence of the Egyptian president in Tehran will help develop Tehran-Cairo relations," Mehmanparast told reporters. Divisions within the Muslim Middle East were also evident when Tehran moved to deny media reports that it had invited Ismail Haniyeh, the leader of Hamas, the Islamist group that controls the Gaza Strip. "From Palestine, only Mahmoud Abbas, the president of the Palestinian Authority, has been invited to Tehran for participation in this summit, and an official invitation has not been sent to any other individual," Mehr quoted Mehmanparast as saying. With the Syrian crisis likely to dominate talks, Iran's support for President Bashar Assad, who is using heavy weaponry against an uprising that threatens to have repercussions around the region, is likely to face scrutiny. Mehmanparast said Iran expected to consult with countries on the sidelines of the summit on a "comprehensive package" to resolve the Syria crisis. Tehran has declared a five-day holiday in the capital to ease traffic pressures and potential security problems. Conservative cleric Ahmad Khatami warned opposition activists, in an interview published last week, not to use the NAM summit as a chance to rekindle their protests which brought huge numbers to the streets in 2009 to protest against the re-election of hardline Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. An opposition group based outside the country has asked UN chief Ban to ask to meet opposition leaders Mirhossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi who have been held under house arrest since February 2011 as the Arab Spring http://www.jpost.com/International/Article.aspx?id=282616
  21. Barack Obama Reddit AMA: President Participates In 'Ask Me Anything' Thread The Huffington Post | By Craig Kanalley Posted: 08/29/2012 4:35 pm Updated: 08/29/2012 6:23 pm I am Barack Obama, President of the United States -- AMA" With that, President Obama sent waves across the Internet and prompted an explosion of tweets, introducing his very own "Ask Me Anything" Reddit thread, beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET Wednesday. (Scroll down for his responses) Reddit moderators and administrators quickly confirmed it was actually Obama in the comment thread, and Obama himself posted on his verified campaign Twitter account that it was indeed him. The IAmA Reddit series allows Reddit users to ask questions of people from many walks of life, as seen here, and vote up their favorite questions and responses. It is a crowd-sourced Q&A of sorts hosted by the Internet. The Washington Post reports that Obama is hosting the Q&A during a campaign stop in the same city Reddit was born in 2005 -- Charlottesville, Va. 4:30 PM – Today Obama Answers 10 Questions Obama included the following in his 10th and final response: "Speaking of balance, though, I need to get going so I'm back in DC in time for dinner. But I want to thank everybody at reddit for participating - this is an example of how technology and the internet can empower the sorts of conversations that strengthen our democracy over the long run. " 4:27 PM – Today Obama On Reddit: "NOT BAD!" In case you missed it, in one of his responses, Obama wrote: "if you want to know what I think about this whole reddit experience - NOT BAD!" 4:21 PM – Today Obama's Longest Response Obama's response on unemployment and the economy was 297 words long. It was posted 15 minutes after his previous post on the White House beer for the longest gap between posts. 4:12 PM – Today Balancing Personal Life With POTUS gobearss asks, "How do you balance family life and hobbies with, well, being the POTUS?" Obama's response: It's hard - truthfully the main thing other than work is just making sure that I'm spending enough time with michelle and the girls. The big advantage I have is that I live above the store - so I have no commute! So we make sure that when I'm in DC I never miss dinner with them at 6:30 pm - even if I have to go back down to the Oval for work later in the evening. I do work out every morning as well, and try to get a basketball or golf game in on the weekends just to get out of the bubble. Speaking of balance, though, I need to get going so I'm back in DC in time for dinner. But I want to thank everybody at reddit for participating - this is an example of how technology and the internet can empower the sorts of conversations that strengthen our democracy over the long run. AND REMEMBER TO VOTE IN NOVEMBER - if you need to know how to register, go to Gottaregister.com. By the way, if you want to know what I think about this whole reddit experience - NOT BAD! 4:11 PM – Today On Unemployment Reddit user hmlee posts: I am recent law school graduate. Despite graduating from a top school, I find myself unemployed with a large student loan debt burden. While I'm sure my immediate prospects will improve in time, it's difficult to be optimistic about the future knowing that my ability to live a productive life -- to have a fulfilling career, to buy a house, to someday raise a family -- is hampered by my debt and the bleak economic outlook for young people. I know that I'm not alone in feeling this way. Many of us are demoralized. Your 2008 campaign was successful in large part due to the efforts of younger demographics. We worked for you, we campaigned for you, and we turned out in record numbers to vote for you. What can I say to encourage those in similar situations as I am to show up again in November? What hope can you offer us for your second term? Obama's response: I understand how tough it is out there for recent grads. You're right - your long term prospects are great, but that doesn't help in the short term. Obviously some of the steps we have taken already help young people at the start of their careers. Because of the health care bill, you can stay on your parent's plan until you're twenty six. Because of our student loan bill, we are lowering the debt burdens that young people have to carry. But the key for your future, and all our futures, is an economy that is growing and creating solid middle class jobs - and that's why the choice in this election is so important. The other party has two ideas for growth - more taxs cuts for the wealthy (paid for by raising tax burdens on the middle class and gutting investments like education) and getting rid of regulations we've put in place to control the excesses on wall street and help consumers. These ideas have been tried, they didnt work, and will make the economy worse. I want to keep promoting advanced manufacturing that will bring jobs back to America, promote all-American energy sources (including wind and solar), keep investing in education and make college more affordable, rebuild our infrastructure, invest in science, and reduce our deficit in a balanced way with prudent spending cuts and higher taxes on folks making more than $250,000/year. I don't promise that this will solve all our immediate economic challenges, but my plans will lay the foundation for long term growth for your generation, and for generations to follow. So don't be discouraged - we didn't get into this fix overnight, and we won't get out overnight, but we are making progress and with your help will make more. 4:07 PM – Today Reddit Experiencing Site Problems If you're having trouble accessing Reddit right now, you're not alone. Many Twitter users are saying they can't log on. You may see the message: "reddit is under heavy load right now, sorry. Try again in a few minutes." 4:04 PM – Today How This Happened Peter Kafka explains on AllThingsD how Reddit got Obama to do the Q&A. According to Alexis Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit: There’s not a lot to it. I’ve gotten to know quite a few folks in the WH & Obama campaign team over the years and it was always something I brought up when I got the chance. There are quite a few redditors at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave and at the campaign HQ — given the prominence of reddit, it’s an easy sell. Read more on AllThingsD. 3:59 PM – Today White House Beer Silent1mezzo asks, "What's the recipe for the White House's beer?" Obama responds, "It will be out soon! I can tell from first hand experience, it is tasty." 3:58 PM – Today Money And Politics Suzmerk asks, "What are you going to do to end the corrupting influence of money in politics during your second term?" Obama responds: Money has always been a factor in politics, but we are seeing something new in the no-holds barred flow of seven and eight figure checks, most undisclosed, into super-PACs; they fundamentally threaten to overwhelm the political process over the long run and drown out the voices of ordinary citizens. We need to start with passing the Disclose Act that is already written and been sponsored in Congress - to at least force disclosure of who is giving to who. We should also pass legislation prohibiting the bundling of campaign contributions from lobbyists. Over the longer term, I think we need to seriously consider mobilizing a constitutional amendment process to overturn Citizens United (assuming the Supreme Court doesn't revisit it). Even if the amendment process falls short, it can shine a spotlight of the super-PAC phenomenon and help apply pressure for change. 3:56 PM – Today Nearly 2 Million Readers According to Reddit's counter, the AMA has had 1,853,997 readers so far (and counting). 3:50 PM – Today Most Difficult Decision? FifthSurprise asks, "What was the most difficult decision that you had to make during this term?" Obama's response: The decision to surge our forces in afghanistan. Any time you send our brave men and women into battle, you know that not everyone will come home safely, and that necessarily weighs heavily on you. The decision did help us blunt the taliban's momentum, and is allowing us to transition to afghan lead - so we will have recovered that surge at the end of this month, and will end the war at the end of 2014. But knowing of the heroes that have fallen is something you never forget. 3:48 PM – Today What Will You Do On November 7? Daveforamerica posted: "What is the first thing you'll do on November 7th, win or lose?" Obama's response: Win or lose, I'll be thanking everybody who is working so hard - especially all the volunteers in field offices all across the country, and the amazing young people in our campaign offices. 3:47 PM – Today On Small Businesses PartyInYourMouth posts: "How are you going help small businesses in 2013 and 2014? and what if any bills are you going to impliment for small businesses, in 2013, and 2014?" Obama's response: We've really focused on this since I came into office - 18 tax cuts for small business, easier funding from the SBA. Going forward, I want to keep taxes low for the 98 percent of small businesses that have $250,000 or less in income, make it easier for small business to access financing, and expand their opportunities to export. And we will be implementing the Jobs Act bill that I signed that will make it easier for startups to access crowd-funding and reduce their tax burden at the start-up stage. 3:46 PM – Today Favorite Basketball Player? A light-hearted third response. Karlfranks asked, "Who's your favorite Basketball player?" Obama responded: "Jordan - I'm a Bulls guy." 3:44 PM – Today On Internet Freedom Obama's second response was regarding a question on Internet Freedom. SharkGirl posted "We know how Republicans feel about protecting Internet Freedom. Is Internet Freedom an issue you'd push to add to the Democratic Party's 2012 platform?" Obama's response: Internet freedom is something I know you all care passionately about; I do too. We will fight hard to make sure that the internet remains the open forum for everybody - from those who are expressing an idea to those to want to start a business. And although their will be occasional disagreements on the details of various legislative proposals, I won't stray from that principle - and it will be reflected in the platform. 3:43 PM – Today Photo Confirmation In response to questions whether or not it's really Obama, he also posted this photo evidence. 3:41 PM – Today First Response Obama responded to the top-voted question first. The key is to make sure that we invest in cutting edge research that can take us to the next level - so even as we continue work with the international space station, we are focused on a potential mission to a asteroid as a prelude to a manned Mars flight. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/08/29/barack-obama-reddit-ama_n_1840908.html?icid=maing-grid10%7Chtmlws-sb-bb%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D198989
