The belief is that all commodities will loose the zero's as well. Where as now you might pay 1000 dinar for a can of coke that is 1000 dinar. After the change, that bill becomes a 1 dinar note and the can of coke is now 1 dinar as well. Don't know if that will happen. Just speculating as to one possible scenario. Hope this helped. Peace

From what I've heard, Iraq passed a law in 2003 that prohibits any news organization in Iraq from reporting information that could be considered detrimental to the economy of Iraq. This basically means that any news we get from Iraq is most likely poop. I don't see this changing any time soon.

I think the speculation of an in country RV is probably a misunderstanding concerning the new lower denoms that may be coming out. I believe they are currently in an education phase of teaching the Iraqi citizens about the new denoms and this may very well have spun into the rumor of in country RV. We're gonna be hearing a lot of this over the coming weeks and it all points to a good outcome.
