If you increase the value (revalue) the dinar to equal the value of 1 US dollar instead of 1/1170 of a US dollar you would find (in Iraq) that a loaf of bread would cost far fewer dinars that it currently does. Money is the medium of exchage. Value is the worth of the money. Increase the value X10 and knock of a 0. Increase the value X100 and knock of two 0s. Increase the value X1000 and knock of three 0s. Changing the units of measuring the worth of an object doesn't change the it's value. Changing the value of an object does change the units of it's measured worth.

Just a thought, could the small values be issued as coins?

Dr S. apparently thinks differently. But his own party planing to remove him might make Maliki more eager to get-r-done. If Maliki wants to save his butt and get on with the RV it could happen overnight, but if there is an impeachment, removal and a new round of elections we could be looking at months before RV (jmo).

I am truly hopeful that the RV has happened. As I am also truly hopeful that the US Gov't shutdown won't screw this up because the guy who lives in the bowels of the Treasury isn't there to rubberstamp the proper form for the US to recognise the dinar- or whatever. GO RV!
