They are there for an education. 

They have choice of what college they can go to.

The players are not innocent pawns.

They are being paid well enough in the form of "full" scholarships, meal cards, etc.  However, if a kid is a college sport superstar.....he/she should benefit from the sale of merchandise directly related to them, jerseys, for example.  As always, just my opinion.
