Security Council discusses the 3 reports to remove Iraq from Chapter VII

Discusses the UN Security Council this month, three reports on ways to ensure to remove Iraq from Chapter VII, used with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hochear Zibari International Conference on Afghanistan to consult with a number of permanent members to ensure the support of Baghdad, in this case.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, his intention to submit three reports concerning the relationship between Iraq and the General Secretariat on some issues remaining from the provisions of Chapter VII.

In the framework of connected, Zebari met with foreign ministers of member states of the Security Council. On the sidelines of the Bonn meeting on Afghanistan, where he reviewed the relationship between Iraq and the Security Council in relation to the remaining issues from the provisions of Chapter VII and ensure the support of Baghdad. Focus on meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Hillarious Clinton on the future relations between the two countries in the light activation of the strategic framework agreement, and the expected visit of the Prime Minister to Washington.

Zebari also reviewed with the High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security in the European Union, Catherine Ashton, the relationship between Iraq and the European Union in the light of preparations for the signing of an agreement of cooperation and partnership between Iraq and the EU. The two sides stressed the importance of this agreement in advance the relationship between the advanced steps forward.

And expressed Ashton, support for efforts by the United Nations to resolve the problem of Camp Ashraf of the PMOI in Diyala province the opposition actually, northeast of Baghdad, a renewed call to all parties concerned to cooperate in order to find a solution satisfactory.

Meanwhile, Foreign Minister discuss with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu developments and changes taking place in the Arab region and its future prospects. Talks also touched on the Organization’s role in promoting security and stability in the Arab region, taking into consideration the aspirations of their people in the reform and change, referring to the agreement of the parties on the need to coordinate positions and to serve the higher interests of the Islamic peoples.
