Successive bombings rock Tehran

Erbil, Nov. 12 (AKnews) - Several bombs have rocked Tehran and the nearby city of Karaj this afternoon, Iranian semi-official Mehr news agency reported.

At 13.00 local time a "strong" bomb attack struck Karaj, 20 km southwest of Tehran, which smashed the windows of many buildings and terrified the residents.

The source said the residents have poured into streets, afraid for their lives.

Concurrently with the Karaj bombing, some areas of the Iranian capital were also hit by bomb blasts, Fardanews agency reported.

Causalities have yet to be reported and officials are yet to comment.

The bombings occurred after the International Nuclear Agency, having considered almost 1,000 pieces of evidence, warned that the Islamic Republic has been developing nuclear weapons for the last decade.

The warning prompted international criticism against Iran. Israel warned that should Iran continue its nuclear program, Israel would launch a preemptive strike. Iran has always maintained its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.

Huge blast kills 17 at Iran military base...

“My dear colleagues in the Revolutionary Guards were moving munitions in one of the arsenals at that base when, due to an incident, an explosion happened,” Ramezan Sharif told state TV news channel IRINN.
