Yes it was one of the major technical aspects that had to happen.

It has not been covered much as it is almost a given that this would happen (had to happen in fact)

I would call this a major "marker" of the approaching RV.

What is good about this "marker" is that it is one everyone can see with their own eyes.

No rumor...no speculation...no "boots on the ground" but your very own eyes.

Thanks PHOENIX for answering my question and bringing me up to speed on this issue. I appreciate it!

Awesome post Phoenix. You da Man .... So informative this is the next to last piece of the puzzle I think. Now we can get our tranfers direct from Warka to any other bank in the world. Is this kinda like a bank routing code, but only used within the infrastructure of banking formats. Can't wait, it's almost like waiting on Christmas morning and this is night before, Sorta, kinda,.. .Yeah Christmas toys here I come........

http://swiftcodes.org/country/iraq/

Phoenix...This is great news. Obviously this is part of the building blocks for the the Iraqi banking system It had to happen at some point before an RV. Do you know how long ago this ocurred?

Thanks for the great post,

While I am always happy to hear positive information about Iraq and the imminent RV, I am not sure that this is a new sign of impending RV ..Please click on this link

http://trade.gov/static/iraq_paymentsessay.pdf, when opened, scroll down to 8, Appendix A, C and E, it looks as though swift codes were in place from as far back as 2005. Not disputing anyone's post, just want to be sure that I am not looking at something different.

Phoenix is there any way to check and see if this is indeed a new development or one that has been in place for a while?

50 % Correct.

They were in place but not active.

People who have Warka accounts can tell you that to send money to Warka or any other bank the funds had to be sent to one bank in Germany and they would then transfer the funds to Iraq.

The reason this was done through Germany was that the SWIFT codes were not active.

So yes they codes have been in place for a long while but were not "live" and active as they are now.

As far as how long they have been active I do not know exactly but I do not it is very very recent that they have gone "live".

Hope that helps.

your 50% wrong also... because warka signed a deal with CITI and they have their own swift code... however i am not sure as to when all of these swift codes were active... I thought Warka was the only one because of the partnership with Citi but this is very encouraging news...

It can be compared to the Space Shuttle...yes it has been setting on the launch pad for a while...

Yes...there have been engines on the bottom the whole time....

But now all of a sudden the power to the engines has been switched on...and we now see the smoke as the engines are now on and ready to be fired at full power.
