Cairo - Mubasher: The foreign ministers of Iraq, Egypt and Jordan agreed on the need to start implementing joint projects in the field of economy, energy and electricity, with the need to identify the follow-up bodies to serve and achieve interests at all levels.

 

Today, Friday, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein participated, on Thursday, in the meeting of the tripartite coordination mechanism with Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, on the sidelines of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, according to the news agency. Middle east.

The meeting comes to advance the course of cooperation between the three brotherly countries, and to consult on issues of common concern, praising at the same time the approved work mechanism, which is positively reflected with the three countries.

The ministry explained that the latest developments and developments on the regional and international scene and their repercussions on the region were discussed, stressing the need to create a common positive ground for the development of relations between the countries of the region.

It was also agreed to hold a meeting in the coming period in Amman to follow up the implementation of electrical interconnection projects.

They also expressed their support and wishes for the success of the Iraqi parliamentary elections, to be held next October.

{Political: Al-Furat News} The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Iraq to the Arab League and its ambassador to Egypt, Ahmed Nayef Al-Dulaimi, announced the start of activating the agreements between Iraq and Egypt, both of which were held at the summits of the two countries.

Al-Dulaimi said in a press interview, "The most important projects of these agreements are electrical interconnection, land transport, the industrial zone, and reconstruction in exchange for oil," pointing out "the keenness to transfer the Egyptian experience to Iraq because of its sobriety and high quality."

He noted that "Iraq is not deficient in experience or competence, but the extent of the destruction that occurred in it requires solidarity and cooperation from sister Egypt."

Al-Dulaimi indicated that "there is effective coordination in the field of security, defense and political fields," pointing out that "there are new (Iraqi-Egyptian) summits in Al-Qahia and Zay'idah between them."

Shafaq News/ The Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Battal Al-Najm announced, on Thursday, the conclusion of a number of memorandums of understanding with Jordan in various fields, indicating that the final stages of a project to extend an oil pipeline from Basra Governorate through the port of Aqaba have been reached.

 

This came during his announcement, in a press conference held today, to end the work of the Iraqi-Jordanian committee, whose meetings lasted for two days to discuss many sectoral issues and sign 16 memorandums of understanding within the framework of the two countries' pursuit of a complementary relationship that serves the interests of the two peoples.

Batal Al-Najm and Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Al-Shamali presided over the twenty-ninth session of the Iraqi-Jordanian joint committee, in the presence of the Minister of Water Resources, agents and representatives of ministries and relevant official authorities from both countries, with the aim of strengthening the relations between the two countries and areas of joint cooperation in all sectors.

The Iraqi Minister of Industry said that the current session of the committee is of particular importance as it culminates in the work of the previous sessions and the achievement of tangible results in the joint economic city project, which developed the declaration into a global developer after the effort and hard work of former ministers and officials, in addition to reaching the final stages in the oil pipeline project. The Iraqi-Jordanian electrical interconnection project and others, stressing the desire of the Iraqi and Jordanian private sectors to work jointly in order to localize industries between the two countries.

The star also stressed the need for communication between the ministries and relevant authorities in both countries to follow up on what was discussed and agreed upon during this session.

For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Industry affirmed that the relationship between Iraq and Jordan is a distinguished strategic one, and that there is a real desire to continue this historical relationship in order to achieve promising projects that serve the two countries.

The meeting dealt with a review of cooperation programs and agreements that were reached in the economic, commercial and investment fields, especially in the Economic City project, and agreements in the fields of health, energy, education, electricity, water, culture and others.

The meeting also witnessed the signing of memorandums of understanding between the two countries in various fields and minutes of the meeting for the purpose of deepening the partnership in various fields.

 

It is noteworthy that the Iraqi Ministry of Oil is working on extending a pipeline to export crude oil as a new outlet through Jordan, starting from Basra to Haditha and then from Haditha to the Jordanian port of Aqaba.

Iraq is also seeking the process of electrical interconnection with neighboring countries, including Turkey, Jordan and the Arab Gulf, in order to reduce the energy deficit, especially during peak summer days.

Today, Friday, a Jordanian industrial official revealed an agreement with Baghdad to establish commercial partnerships "far from competition."

Jordanian media, followed by (Baghdad Today), quoted the head of the Amman and Jordan Chambers of Industry, Fathi al-Jaghbir, as saying, "The Jordanian private sector is keen to make its economic relations with Iraq on the basis of complementarity, as it is an important trade partner for Jordan."

He added that "the opportunities for cooperation between the private sector in the two countries are large and wide, which also encourages the establishment of joint investments and commercial partnerships."

He referred to "the agreement with the Iraqi Federation of Industries and Trade that the next stage will witness bilateral action away from competition."

Al-Jaghbir continued, "The Jordanian industry has many export opportunities to the Iraqi market, with a value of more than $200 million, represented by the food, pharmaceutical, plastic, and packaging industries of paper and metal."

He stressed that "Iraq is associated with Jordan with many trade and economic agreements and memorandums of understanding, which contribute to framing and enabling fraternal relations between the two countries, foremost of which is an economic and technical cooperation agreement signed in 1980 and the free trade agreement signed in 2009."

He stressed "the need to build strategic partnerships at the level of private sector institutions, especially in light of the joint projects agreed upon to be implemented between the two countries in the coming years, foremost of which is the economic city that will be established equally on the borders of the two countries."

And he added, "Jordanian industry has the ability to support the reconstruction process in Iraq, such as the construction and mining industries, which have a solid and wide production base of iron, cement, stone and marble products, in addition to chemicals such as paints, fertilizers, and raw chemicals used in the construction and engineering industries, as well as sanitary and electrical supplies."

A statement of the Ministry of Industry, of which {Euphrates News} received a copy, stated that Al-Najm: “He chaired the periodic meeting with the agents, consultants and general managers of the departments of the Ministry’s center for deliberation on some issues, including the implementation of the paragraphs of the government curriculum of the Ministry regarding the issue of structuring some factories after the study and the comprehensive preparation to proceed. with this matter.”

The meeting also discussed, according to the statement, “fixing contract employees on permanent staffing, whose number exceeded 12,000 employees, as the Minister of Industry directed the need to involve them in training, introductory and development courses on public office, job behavior, government laws, and other courses according to specialization, and authorizing the administrative agent and the director general of the administrative and financial department to consider cases Placement to be specified and other administrative matters for permanent staff members and new hires.
