On Thursday, the spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government, Jutiar Adel, renewed criticism of the federal government's cutting of funding for the monthly salaries of employees and workers in the public sector in the region, stressing at the same time that the delegation of the regional government, which will visit Baghdad soon, will present to the federal government its vision on the oil law. and gas in order to proceed with its legislation.  

  

 

  

  

Adel said in a press conference followed by “NAS” (February 9, 2023), that “the financial dues were supposed to continue,” stressing that “the regional government had agreed with the previous government to send 220 billion dinars per month to the region, after which it decreased to 200.” one billion".  

  

He added, "These sums are due to the region and cannot be included under the name of advances or loans."  

  

He stressed that "the regional government's negotiating delegation will visit Baghdad soon, and will discuss several issues with the federal government, including financial dues and the oil and gas law," adding that "we have a vision on the oil and gas law based on the permanent constitution, and the delegation will present it to the federal government during its upcoming visit."  

  

Adel also pointed out that "in the last visit of the regional government delegation headed by Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, a set of understandings took place between him and the head of the federal government, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, stressing that there are points of contention between Erbil and Baghdad, but the dialogues will continue between the two sides to overcome them."  

  

And he went on to say that "the dialogues will continue on the budget, as well as that pertaining to the legislation of laws included in the agreement concluded between the forces and political parties involved in the state administration coalition, which resulted in the formation of the Iraqi government and has become a program for it."  

  

Adel stressed that "there are positive indicators and understandings to move forward in resolving the disputes and outstanding issues between Erbil and Baghdad, including bridging security gaps in conflict areas, and applying Article 140 of the Constitution, which if implemented, many problems would have been resolved in addition to the Sinjar Agreement."  

  

He continued, "There is a good understanding between the federal government and the regional government on these issues," adding that "we are in the middle of the road and we will continue dialogues to resolve all controversial issues."
