A website belonging to the Husseiniya shrine explains how visitors are counted, and what are the truth of the announced numbers?

Baghdad - people

The "The Twelve Imams" website has published an explanation of how visitors are counted, and the reality of the number recently reported by the al-Abbas's (p) shrine.

The site stated, "As soon as the month of Safar begins, and sometimes even before it begins, the estimates of the forty visitors begin to be issued by the public and private, each according to his vision, but science remains the final word in such resources.

It should be remembered important matters in this regard, which some believers may overlook in an atmosphere of intense emotion and high jealousy for religion in general and doctrine in particular, which requires defense against attacks and suspicions that some parties and individuals cast against the visit and the number of its visitors.

Here it becomes necessary for us, even from a moral standpoint, to clarify these matters:

  1. Any number of visitors is not based on scientific evidence, even if it is realistic, as its promotion carries risks on the credibility of those promoted by an individual or an institution, and even denigrates the reputation of the visit and the greatness of its positive effects.

  1. A number on which you can establish evidence, but it is less than or equal to reality, better for pilgrimage and doctrine and the addresses associated with them, than a number that has no evidence even if it is equal to reality, because this number may be slandered by the enemy without us being able to respond to it, while the first number cannot be refuted by anyone. Because it is proof.

  1. The release of the exaggerated numbers of the total number of visitors or the number of foreigners among them, most of them are in good faith, but according to the tracking, it may already be something that is not innocent and is behind political or even projective agendas, and this is a detail that is not appropriate here, and whoever promotes exaggerated numbers will fall into embarrassment Lying when the truth is revealed, and promoting those agendas without knowing or intending it.

  1. What the visitors see of the large number of foreign visitors and his belief that they are more than what appears from official numbers, is caused by the accumulation of most of them in the city, between Husseiniyas, hotels and streets, and for several days, while the Iraqi visitor leaves - most of them leave and the percentage may reach 98% - in the same hour He arrives after entering the two thresholds or one of them - he visits the second from a distance. In fact, the Iraqi visitor may give an opportunity to the foreign visitor, and the Iraqi is satisfied to visit both thresholds near one of the city bridges or the entrances to the old city, without entering them, a custom that arose since the fall of the tyrant due to overcrowding.

Thus, the foreign visitor appears to the seer as if he is the majority or the only one!!, and he sees only a few Iraqi visitors in the Old City, because most of them visit from its entrances or the entrances to the two holy shrines.

Evidence for this is the fortieth pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, for the year 1443 AH, in which there were no foreign visitors due to the Corona pandemic. At that time, except for the days of visitors from 1 to 6 Safar, the number may reach 17 million.

Accordingly, the number of visitors to the Arba’een season of Imam Hussein in 1444 AH until 12 noon on the day of the Arbaeen, and this number is from 1 Safar to noon (12 o’clock) on the 20th of the Great Arbaeen .. And those coming from outside Karbala are:

21,198,640 visitors...

  1. The above number was mentioned by the statement of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine accurately, and not for the end of the day of the visit..

This means that the influx of visitors from the governorates after 12 noon will increase the above number, but it is not large, and may reach 21.5 million or less or a little more,” according to the website.
