What's going  on around this place?

There are many more question than there are answers.

The Budget was passed over two weeks ago...why isn't it in Gazette?

Treat as a rumor. Not verified. Your opine

Guru Petra:

What do we absolutely know?

1.  We know the budget was approved on 3-31-21.  That's a fact.

2. We know that the new budget hasn't been entered in the gazette.  Why?

3.  Has the rate change been shown on the CBI?  No.

4.  Are there billions on the sidelines...private investors & companies waiting to enter into Iraq?  Yes.

IMO the frustration of folks comes when trying to figure out a date.  Can anyone influence the launch of the reforms or influence the date of the reinstatement in the public realm?  No...They cannot survive at the current program rate.  Nor will it come out at the program rate because the math just doesn't work.  Anchor in what we do know - that they have told us it is coming.  We just don't know when.  Stay the course.  Anchor in know that it is coming and relax.  You're not going to miss it.

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced, on Thursday, his government's intention to challenge some provisions of the budget with the Federal Court, attributing this to the existence of clauses that will "affect" the electricity and health sectors.

Al-Kazemi said in a statement issued on the sidelines of his meeting with a gathering of tribal sheikhs and notables from Al-Muthanna Governorate, which the Tigris received:

“Since my assignment, I have confirmed that I will only be a servant of the people. "

We face great challenges, and Iraq has gone through difficult circumstances, and when we assumed our duties 11 months ago, there was the financial crisis and the Corona pandemic, and there were also those betting on the failure of the government, or entering into a civil war, but we were not drawn into this, and our patience and we will overcome challenges one by one."

Al-Kazemi added, “We have taken difficult measures for reform, and in order to protect the country financially and economically,”

stressing, “We will file an appeal with some of the budget paragraphs with the Federal Court, because there are clauses that will affect the electricity sector, the health sector, and others.”

"Our problems first need correct management and an honesty approach in order to solve them," he added, adding:

"We have embarked on a campaign of relations with neighboring countries in order to bring in investments to serve our country and its people.
I will personally follow up the conditions of the Muthanna governorate, as well as any demands of its people."

Preparations for preparing the 2022 budget and a "supplementary" budget in the middle of this year

The government is preparing to prepare the budget for next year 2022, while the Parliamentary Finance Committee noted the possibility of presenting a supplementary budget in the middle of this The year.

A member of the Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, told Al-Sabah: “The government formed a committee to prepare the 2022 budget and asked the Finance Committee to name representatives from it to be among The Commission".

He added, "The holding of early elections is what prompted the government to take this step, especially since Parliament must be."

It resolves itself before the election date, and this matter requires preparing the budget for next year so that there is no confusion in this regard, ”indicating that“ the next parliament can vote on the 2022 budget if it was prepared by the Al-Kazemi government, ”indicating“ the government's intention to prepare a supplementary budget in the middle of this year and send it. To Parliament with higher prices
