During their meeting, the two sides will discuss ways to develop the relations of the Kurdistan region of Iraq with France, the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan region and the region in general, the Covid-19 epidemic and its implications, the dangers of terrorism and the tasks of the international coalition, as well as the importance of cooperation and participation of all parties in confronting ISIS, along with a host of other issues. Both sides are interested.

Meanwhile, a delegation from the Federal Government Ministry of Agriculture inspected the projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources in the Kurdistan Regional Government. The President of the Kurdistan region, Nechirvan Barzani, who is on a visit to France, on Wednesday, sent a message to Iraqi politicians, asking them to sit at the same table and solve the country's problems.  

  

 

  

Barzani said, in a press statement after his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, followed by "People" (March 31, 2021), "I say to all Iraqi politicians, it is time to sit down together to address the problems of Iraq politically, to ensure a better future for the country, because the Iraqi people He suffered a lot and deserves the best. "  

Barzani commented on the current budget discussions in Iraq, saying that "of course it is important for us. There is an agreement that took place between the Kurdistan region and the Baghdad government, which we hope will be implemented."  

He added that "the important thing in the matter also is that all Iraqis know that the Kurdistan region is not the cause of the issue of not passing the budget. The Kurdistan region, as it wants Erbil and Sulaymaniyah to develop, wants there to be development in Nasiriyah, Karbala, Najaf, Ramadi, Mosul and all other places."  

He pointed out that "it is natural that ISIS poses a serious security threat to all of Iraq. During our conversation with President Macron, we confirmed that the issue of ISIS continues to pose a threat to the stability and security of Iraq."  

And he continued, "With regard to groups outside the law, we consider any party outside the law, a threat not only to the Kurdistan region, but to the whole of Iraq and its stability, and we believe that weapons must be in the hands of the state, and it is necessary to organize this within a legal framework."  

He added, "We are very, in general and serious, very dissatisfied with the parties trying to destabilize the security and stability of Iraq and work outside the framework of the law, at the same time, we do not believe that such actions will serve Iraq, and we do not believe that these actions will help the political stability of Iraq, and this is why it is necessary." That we all have a position on this issue. "  

In response to a question about the signing of agreements between the French company Total and Iraq, Barzani said, "First, we are happy with this, because the big problem for Iraq today is the issue of securing fuel for electricity as a service provided to the Iraqi people. We are very happy with this agreement, and we hope to implement it, and that it will be the beginning of providing services." Best of all Iraqis. "  

He explained that "annually large quantities of gas are wasted, and at the same time Iraq is forced to buy electricity and gas from neighboring countries. We congratulate the Iraqi Ministry of Oil and congratulate Mr. Mustafa Al-Kazemi, and we hope that this agreement will enter into force for the benefit of all Iraqis."  

Barzani stressed that "the development of Basra, Karbala, Najaf and Anbar is a development for Kurdistan, which we see, and that any project that is a reason for providing more services to the Iraqis anywhere is our source of happiness."  

Barzani stressed that "France has an important role in the Middle East and Iraq as well, and France is part of the international coalition to help Iraq against ISIS, and politically speaking, it always supports stability in Iraq."  

Barzani said that his talks with Macron "emphasized several important issues, the first of which is the issue of ISIS and terrorist threats, and President Macron affirmed his support for Iraq and the Kurdistan region and its security stability."  

He added, "Macron previously visited Iraq, and during my meeting with him, he emphasized the role that it could play in the stability of Iraq in political terms as well as security."  

Barzani pointed out that "Macron congratulated the Iraqi people and the people of Kurdistan on the successful visit of His Holiness, the Pope, who visited Iraq and the Kurdistan region and met with all components," stressing that "Iraq is a country of coexistence for all sects."  

He (Macron) said, "We hope that this visit will be a good start and open new doors to Iraq."
