The US needs some reform in the election process.  Term limits, shorter election cycles, dollar cap expenditures for elections and elimination of the special interests and super pac funding. 

 

Perhaps some one could run on a strictly non negativity platform.....not ripping the opponent........state it in the beginning and stick to it.......my bet is it is likely they would win if they had the basic qualifications for that office......

This is a great post, CL.  I agree with every word of it.  I actually view these midterm elections as a referendum on respect.  The man sitting in our oval office, who amassed an adoring fan base of millions, relied completely on negative campaigning and still rules by that creed to this day.  So, it will be interesting to see if millions of voters who still hold their fellow countrymen in respectful high regard, will rise up and flip the switch.  A sworn campaign of non negativity.....it sure is a nice thought.
