Al-Furat news received a document issued by the General Secretariat of the Liberal Bloc / Office of Provincial Affairs punish two members of its mass, for not attending the voting session on the post of governor of Basra. 

According to the document, the Liberal bloc pointed out that in view of the violation of two members, including the directives issued by the political body of the Sadrist movement, and the lack of commitment to the decisions issued to them, their membership was frozen in the bloc for two months. 

If they continue to fail, tougher disciplinary measures will be taken against them, the document added.

The Iraqi National Congress on Sunday elected As'ad Abdul-Amir Al-Eidani as governor of Basra, while supporting him to overcome all the difficulties facing his job as governor.

The conference, in a statement received by Mawazine News, said that it "congratulates the Basra Provincial Council for Assaad Abdul Amir Al-Eidani as a new governor." He pledged "to exert maximum efforts to overcome all difficulties facing the work of the new governor."

He pointed out that "the parking of the political blocs and representatives of the people of the province of Basra with the new governor in this mission, will be sufficient enough to make the success of the experiment, and the completion of many of the steps that are expected by the people of the province of Basra a long time ago, in order to improve the level of service and living for citizens of Basra after neglecting previous years" , Stressing "the importance of bringing the views of the partners closer together, to reach a point of participation in which everyone will meet, to serve Basra and its affluent people."

today won a presidential decree appointing As'ad al-Eidani as governor of Basra. 
The document states that "Assaad Abdul Amir Abdul Ghaffar al-Eidani is appointed governor of Basra."

It further states that "this Decree shall be implemented from the date of its issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette". 
On August 27, 2017, the Basrah Governorate Council voted on the election of As'ad al-Eidani, governor of Basra, with a vote of 24 out of the 27 members, thus replacing Majid al-Nasrawi, who resigned on 10 August 2017.

Revealed the Integrity Commission, on Wednesday, the issuance of a strong prison sentence for three years against the President of the Basra Provincial Council Sabah al-Bezouni. 

In a statement received by Alsumaria News, the agency said that a verdict was issued against the head of the Basra provincial council, Sabah Hassan Mohammed al-Bezouni, who is serving a three-year term of imprisonment based on article 319 of the Penal Code. 

She added that "the investigations department in the Commission, referring to the details of the case, to the arrival of the court to the full conviction of the conviction of the benefit of a civil company for the transfer of a number of projects to that company," noting that "the court decided to rule on the basis of the provision A fair and challengeable judgment ".

 

 


On August 30, 2017, the Supreme Judicial Council decided to transfer the case of the head of the Basrah Governorate Council Sabah al-Bezouni to Baghdad, pointing out that this came after questioning the impartiality of the judiciary in the province.

Basra Provincial Council head sentenced to 3 years in prison

The Iraqi Commission of Integrity (CoI) sentenced on Wednesday Head of Basra Provincial Council Sabah Al Bazooni to three years in prison over bribery charges.

 

In a press release, the commission said that Bazooni received a bribery from a domestic company over illegally allowing the company to work in a number of national projects in the province.
