rockfl9
SD ; Be aware you may be breaking the law! Transporting dirt or live plants across state line usually requires a permit. When I transferred to Cal in '67 we carried the wife's orchid collection in the car, at the inspection station the plants were impounded. some were rare . After an exchange with the super they agreed that all healthy plants could enter but the dirt and containers could not.
SgtFuryUSCZ
***/// Right about that, ROCKFL... It's okay to drag yer carcass over the border bringin' in all kinds of diseases and send yer illegal snot-nosed brats into our schools to infect our babies.... but ya better not bring a teaspoon of dirt over that State Line ! Oh, noooo ! ..... BTW -- Orchids should not be in dirt. They should be in Orchid 'MEDIUM'.... But we get ya. Ever try crossing onto Canada with a baby aloe plant in the RV's kitchen window...? JAIL ! SocalDinar
I know the checkpoint you speak of rock. I always give them a hard time. Most inspectors have no clue what the 10 th amendment is. They usually get upset when I tell them that I do not answer questions and that they can not search my vehicle without a warrant. They only ask if I you have any plants or vegetables. Never had them ask if I had any dirt LOL. Almost every online prospecting store sells paydirt and I have never seen any restrictions like where they will not ship to. I will double check but in pretty sure it's ok. Must be 100 sales of paydirt on eBay every day. Next time you go through that checkpoint or any other fascist illegal stop, turn on your go pro or iPhone videos record and ask them "Am I being detained?" " Am I free to go?" Don't forget to tell them that they are being recorded and that you are a citizen journalist. Watch how fast they wave you through the lines
SocalDinar
I looked for over an hour and could find absolutely nothing illegal about selling pay dirt Rock. Even Amazon has over 20 pages of pay dirt sales with many being Amazon Prime. Its not a guarantee but if Amazons selling it to all 50 states its probably legal. Although I really just sold this for fun and maybe pick up a new recirculating sluice for my trouble. I'm an electrical contractor and not really a dirt salesman by trade LOL. Gold digging is just a hobby. Not a job. I do see how someone could make a living off of this though. And the research I just did shows how many prospectors make more selling dirt than they ever do finding gold.
