Tex & Jag...I got a better idea based on cold hard experince...Surround the city, take out all water installations, electricity plants and cut off all food supplies, AND send a well planned B-52 strike with 1000lb bombs and they will surrender immediately.... worked in 11 days in Hanoi (until Kissinger jacked us around) and they had a ring of SAM sites to protect them..I'll volunteer for a crew  :salute:

Surround the city, take out all water installations, electricity plants and cut off all food supplies, within two weeks time they will surrender.

True that, but before ISIL does surrender, they will have murdered all the remaining innocent civilians that haven't already been starved or dehydrated to death.

Can you imagine the horrors those sick bastards would impose on the captured, taking out their frustrations on any nearby civilian that was unlucky enough to still be alive?

The millions trapped there now would probably be reduced to mere hundreds, and after watching their family brutalized and murdered, there wouldn't be much left.

Living under Maliki for the last decade, any relief was welcomed.

I'm sure they realize by now they allowed the devil himself into town.
