Wow! It's amazing to me how instead of standing behind the President, who is attempting to fix what's broken, for quite some time the general sentiment is that he's the problem with America, he's the reason the real estate market crashed, he's the reason all the wall street pukes have been robbing investers, he's the one responsible for our jobs being shipped overseas etc... Everyone acts as if this mess started with the Obama administration and they're the reason we're in this situation AND WE WANT IT FIXED NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! I get that you basically blame the guy that's there now, but with all the intelligent people on this forum, are you just complaining just to complain? I mean really, how can you expect this mess to be fixed in what 17months!?!?!?! I'm definately not trying to make excuses for the President, nor am I the black guy defending the other black guy, but what would any of you guys have done differently. Saying someone should do this or that and not fully realizing what the outcome would be and who it would truly afffect is emotional not logical. Everyone is entitled to there opinion and you really can say what you want to say, it's the American way right? Shhhhhhh don't say anything but I voted for Bush....TWICE!!!!!!! Yeah that's right and I voted for his daddy too. Mostly because I was in the military and traditionally the repub party took better care of the military, at least that was my experience. I digress.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, he is our President, like him or not, voted for him or not. He's here for the next 2 1/2 years. Vote against him in the next presidential election, get him out if you don't want him there, but at least give the man his shot. I mean really, what President have any of you NOT complained about. Do you guys like anyone??? Why don't you folks that got it all figured out run in the next election. I bet if President Obama waived all taxes on this dinar "investment" you guys would flip like pancakes at IHOP! JMHO. Bash away if you must.

First, I would like to thank you for your service in the military.

Second, I don't care what color Obama is, there are several things that I totally disagree with.

a) why didn't he openly PROVE where he was born/citizenship,

B) the bail out of the banks, auto manufactures...it is not fair to put this tax burden on the American tax payers when small business owners (which I am not one) are struggling to open,

c) close the borders and DO NOT provide benefits to illegals.

Hey, I'm sure some will disagree with me on this, but that is part of "freedom of speech".

according to the AP, Americans paid fewer taxes in 2009 than anytime since the Truman administration. Where do you get the taxes are up thing?

It’s because there are less people with jobs to pay taxes! Those who do are paying more and it’s only going to get worse……………. Front page of my paper today the biggest employer in my town talking about closing the doors if this happens my town will go under! :(

One more thing neither Democrats nor Republicans have our back they all work for the same masters! It has been this way for many years on both sides.

DO YOU PEOPLE REALLY THINK IT WOULD TAKE ANY ONE A LITTLE OVER 1 YEAR TO FIX WHAT BUSH SCREWED U P IN 8

LIKE THEY SAID "WHEN CLINTON LIED, NO ONE DIED"

Your right....it would take someone really good to fix what is bad but Obama just made it 10x that in just 2 years..He is not a smart man and he is going against our constitution which built this county...By by Oslama :P

Ronald Reagan... I never once complained about him, whereas I had plenty to say about every other president, republican or democrat since Kennedy. But I hear what you're saying. I just can't stand totalitarian socialism... and I believe that's what Mr. Obama is. I'm just a little creeped out by the similarities between he and Adolph Hitler (before Hitler's true plans were widely known). I'm waiting for the "fire in the reichstag" to facilitate Obama's total power grab and the suspension of the constitution. I'm a veteran too TC... and that oath I took to protect and defend the constitution from all enemies both foreign and domestic still holds my heart firm and true. The problem is now I have a president who may truly be a real enemy of the constitution.... so as a veteran (once a soldier always a soldier) I am sworn to protect that precious document and the freedoms it bestows on us all. There is no man or president more important than the nation or the constitution. Anyway, I am worried about this president and his seeming disregard for and seeming utter contempt for the citizens of this great nation and our constitution.

Thank you very much for your service tcjams!!

For those that have served, are serving and will serve this country in the future many thanks to you. I don't know how you guys can deal with it. You are better people than me. My only compliant about Pres.O'Bama is that he doesn't appear to know right from wrong. Seems like he is doing lots of wrongs and not many rights including civil, individual, pursuit of happiness etc. The entire Bill actually. I wish someone could tell me of a politician that has ever kept all of their campaign promises?

Well put Woody. The problem to me appears that the politicians are not taking the same oath to heart.

Today's the Day Obama Swore Iraq Withdrawal Would Be Done

by David Swanson

Today's the Day Obama Swore Iraq Withdrawal Would Be Done Thu May 20, 2010 at 05:29:31 AM PDT

Candidate Obama said innumerable times that ending the war in Iraq would be the first thing he would do:

And he said many, many times that he would do so by beginning immediately to pull out one to two brigades per month and be done in 16 months, in other words: now:

When President Bush failed to pull out of Iraq, Senator Obama in 2007 said that Congress should overrule the president and end the war in order to represent the American people. Not a bad idea:

http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2010/5/20/868144/-Todays-the-Day-Obama-Swore-Iraq-Withdrawal-Would-Be-Done

I think those are what are called "sound bites" ... he said as many times and probably in those same talks that it would be done in a responsible manner. Seems he got better advice once in office then would have been available as a candidate. Nevertheless, our troops are coming home or leaving Iraq, troops will be there in smaller presence after Sept, I think is the date, then plans are to finish in next year, i believe ... but there are many, many, many posts here they have better information.

Yeah, I agree with that, that's because MORE PEOPLE ARE OUT OF WORK! You don't pay taxes, if you don't have a job!

I could not agree with you more. I remember when Reagan gave us a 106% pay raise to get the military back up with economy. Served for 22 years, USMC and Army Washington National Guard. Obama has something in the works right now that has me very concerned. He is back dooring the 2nd Amendment, Congress and the American People and going to the UN and other countries to try and confiscate all our weapons in this country. From what I have read (Rueters) he is already working on this. 1932 is becoming more of a reality check as time goes on. I to am proud of this country and what is going on has got to come to an end somehow. I hope we as a country wake-up before it is to late. (Once a Marine always a Marine).....

I remember when Ronald Reagan allowed so much grain imports that our farmers' grain rotted in the bins.

Anything that helps our military, I am all for ... better pay, better medical services, better fighting equipment, less second-guessing by congress, so I'm with you on that I think actual military personnel, active or retired or whatever status, are the best resources for that information. But I do not understand why the UN issues about importing/exporting armaments to illicit gov'ts is seen as a threat to our 2nd amendment, especially when it will most likely affect other countries more than the US. I would really like to understand the connection if someone will explain.

Thanks,

luckylucy

Simply because there were fewer Americans working to pay taxes in 2009 (and even more out of work for 2010)! My best year was 2003. With the tax cuts that year, and more options moved to short form, I got back more than any other year. But, 2007 wasn't too bad either. Now can we get back to our investments and not our misfortunes.

XOXOXOXXO

Americans paid fewer taxes because there are fewer jobs. Soon we will all pay no taxes because we will all be unemployed!

Whoa is me OBAMA did everything. It was his wall street friends that killed the country with sub-prime mortgages then he bailed them out before he left office because people on his staff were from that firm. Obama didn't have Colin Powel go in front of the UN and lie and destroy his credibility, he would have been the 1st black president and Chaney knew it. Obama didn't lighten the restrictions on the BIG OIL companies, that's why we BP can't stop the oil leak now. Oh I forgot Chaney did that. The man got the healthcare bill passed when others have been trying for years. He went in front of the Republicans and made them look like total idiots. I'm not saying he's perfect but he sure is better than the last bumbling idiot who stood in the oval press room and said " What recession the country is fine." I'll never 4get that one.

Bush had his problems, there is no doubt about that. He was behind the problems we face now with this recession, no doubt about that. No President in the history of this country has every try to bring Socialism into it. The man is trying to take away our weapons. I mean rifles we use for hunting and I don't mean people! He is sitting on his hands during this oil spill and saying that because of some bill in 1990 was drafted, he doesn't need to get involved in it. Yes BP caused this problem and yes BP can't seem to fix the problem. Well maybe it's time to step up to the plate as our President, charge of the problem and get the military involved or the FBI or CIA? What ever it takes to stop this oil leak. This statement was made last n ight by his Press Secretary. I am retired from the military with 22 years of service. I am 55 and have been around the block a few times and seen alot more than the normal American has seen. I have living in countries with Socialism and Communisim. I lived in countries with national Health Care and the people pay the price with theeir hard earned money (TAXES). No President has been perfect, even Kennedy had issues in office . But I have never seen a sitting President stand before the National Anthem on not put his hand over his heartor even salute! I have never seen a President stand with a foreign president and bash this countries immigration laws. I am not saying that Arizona is right in what they are doing but it is a start. You want to let the illegals in, why not invite the terrorists in with them? There is more going on behind the scenes than you or I know about and that is the scary part. I have seen a little of what has gone on behind the scenes when Carter was President and he got peole killed (Iran). I think I am just going to stop here. I hope you get my opinion here??????????
