He is remembered by Sherrill: "Charles Michael Grimmitt, he served 3 combat tours back to back in Vietnam. Two tours off of the U.S.S.Hornet and one off of the U.S.S Kearsarge. He was rear gunner on helo's giving air support & picking up dead & wounded. He passed July 10 2003 from being exposed to Agent Orange." He was from Tampa, Florida, and fell on July 13, 1965 in SVN. He is remembered by Lisa:"They were ambushed and Joe and his medic got separated from the rest of the guys. They were last seen heading into the brush. I have been wearing his bracelet since I was 14 yrs old, so 24 years total. He left behind a wonderful family that I have been honored to talk to them about Joe. He just like everyone else needs to be remembered and to know we WILL never stop looking! He will always be a part of my life...He truly is a part of me! He is remembered by his daughter, Andrea:"My dad was very proud of his service as a medic in Vietnam. He was a fun and loving father and was totally in love with his grandchildren. We lost him to lung cancer attributed to Agent Orange eight and a half years ago, at the age of 53, but he would have turned 62 today.
