2013 Iraq Budget Kurdish MP calls to cancel 2013 General Budget

Baghdad (AIN) –MP, Latif Mustafa of the Kurdish Change bloc stated "The 2013 General Budget was not formed in an artistic, technical and federal way."

 

He stated to All Iraq News Agency (AIN) "We will get the same results from the current Budget as we have got from the previous budgets of the last three years," calling to "Cancel the 2013 Budget and make it federal Budgets in addition to canceling the federal ministries and transfer their budgets to the regions development."

 

"The budgets of the ministries are subject to corruption," he added.

"I call the political sides not to wait positive achievements from the current Budget because it is based on wrong basis and most of it will be for the corrupted officials," he concluded. /End/

I am not surprised the Kurds are upset...we will need to watch this close to see what the shake out brings.

 

I just wonder if the Budget is a legit budget that was passed...K98 or Yota what do you think?

The Kurds chose not to attend the budget session when they voted to approve (or disapprove) the budget.  This is a disgrunteled member of the Kurdish bloc that wanted to halt the vote. This is basic posturing by the opposite side to let others know that IF this fails, it wasn't his fault. 

He is correct in stating that the budget is subject to the whims of corrupt politicians. Of course!  Every government budget faces the same corruption by officials bent on padding their own accounts. Isn't that what just happened with Maliki and his bunch? 

Actually, we need to watch our own congregressial official in the U.S.  We are not free of having people with their hands in the coffers.

hahaha good one rss buddy --- eye rock - i rock  ----->   think we are still in a holding pattern --- until this hits the gazzettes { budget } but if he is right last few budgets they were also suppose to get money that bagdaddy didn`t fork over, {they keep up this trend and  eye rock will be call 3 rd rock as in 3 different states ---- state of happy , state of p.o-ed , state of confussion   }  keep the summer in mind it is here
