Watch What you say to your Doctors

I can't say how much truth to this is true. It was sent to me through my email this morning. From a person who solely loves his guns.

Just wondering if anyone else have heard about this. I've been to several doctors and have not been asked.

But then again I wouldn't put it pass our government. :o

When I had my gangrene gallbladder taken out and spent 10 days in the hospital for what should have been an overnight stay the insurance company kicked me out. I had home nurse visits for two weeks and was asked if I had guns in the house. I respond that if I did I would not tell them. So the below has some merit.

FYI, I am passing this along...there are comments from two other people I have also been asked if we keep guns in the house. The nurse just kinda slipped it in along with all the other regular questions. I told her I refused to answer because it was against the law to ask.

Everyone, whether you have guns or not, should give a neutral answer so they have no idea who does and who doesn't. My doctor asked me if I had guns in my house and also if any were loaded. I, of course, answered yes to both questions. Then he asked why I kept a loaded gun close to my bed. I answered that my son, who is a certified gun instructor and also works for Homeland Security, advised me that an unloaded, locked up gun is no protection against criminal attack.

The Government now requires these questions be asked of people on Medicare, and probably everyone else.

Just passing this along for your information: I had to visit a doctor other than my regular doctor when my doctor was on vacation.. One of the questions on the form I had to fill out was: Do you have any guns in your house?? My answer was None of your damn business!!

So it is out there! It is either an insurance issue or government intervention. Either way, it is out there and the second the government gets into your medical records (as they want to under Obamacare) it will become a major issue and will ultimately result in lock and load!!

Please pass this on to all the other retired guys and gun owners...Thanks, from a Vietnam Vet and retired Police Officer: I had a doctors appointment at the local VA clinic yesterday and found out something very interesting that I would like to pass along. While going through triage before seeing the doctor, I was asked at the end of the exam, three questions:1. Did I feel stressed? 2. Did I feel threatened? 3. Did I feel like doing harm to someone?

The nurse then informed me, that if I had answered yes to any of the questions, I would have lost my concealed carry permit as it would have gone into my medical records and the VA would have reported it to Homeland Security.

Looks like they are going after the vets first. Other gun people like retired law enforcement will probably be next. Then when they go after the civilians, what argument will they have? Be forewarned and be aware. The Obama administration has gone on record as considering veterans and gun owners potential terrorists. Whether you are a gun owner, veteran or not, YOU"VE BEEN WARNED !

If you know veterans and gun owners, please pass this on to them. Be very cautious about what you say and to whom.

Every time we took Sarge to the V.A. Hospital, they asked him if he had a weapon or weapons in the home.

(We always assumed it was because our war time heros have such a high suicide rate, because the nurse/doctor usually prefaced the question with "are you being harmed in the home" and/or "are you depressed".)

Sarge, never one to trust the agenda of the present what he called "lack of justice" department said they were on a fishing expedition to find out how many military still had weapons out there so they knew what they were up against when they came to take them away to some camp!

We thougt the medications were making him paranoid.

We thought he was kidding.

Until we began to research his sites since his passing.

What we've read and learned since is, to say the least, Shocking.

Now we're all suspicious over here.

Sarge typical humorous side note:

Nurse: "Sir, do you have a weapon in the home?"

Sarge: "Only my brain, guess the present government is out-gunned".

God, we miss that guy. :)

A Government big enough to give you everything ,is big enough to take away everything you own.Fear the Government that fears your gun.In the end, only outlaws will have guns..

These are all slogans we have seen here and yonder over the years on different websites and on bumper stickers at your local gun show ,tourist attraction etc. Most people used to think they were just feel good slogans aimed towards pro gun ownership. The closer we get to living in an Orwellian society, one just might be remiss to dismiss these slogans at having any truth to them at all.Recently read an article which stated Obama has made the first step towards gun removal from the masses, which was preceded by Hillarious's efforts on a world treaty to circumvent our Constitutional rights by making it a World Court matter. Not saying these articles have any bearing to them ,but given the current path our Country is being lead down, it is plausible.

I'm sorry NeoDinar, I pretty much have taken these sites for information to the drain. I don't rely on truth through these sites much less from the media. They've all been bought out, to some degree. However I do rely on truthful information from personal friends. Also reliable DV members.

And our Sarge was one to bring forth a lot of great info.

That's just my honest opinion.

I miss him, too. He was one of a kind, and it's hard not to miss those special rare beings after they have walked among us.

***/// Ms. Patty,

Thank you for acknowledement of Sarge's contribution.

He was a well-travelled, excellently informed, well-connected scholar of humanity.

He always delivered the 'bad' news regarding his fellow man with tongue in cheek humor, peppered in a bit of whimsical satire if he could.

He was gentle that way.

Every time we all got together, he spoke rarely, softly, but we all listened. He never ceased to amuse, educate and inform in his own special way.

Sometimes, as we educate ourselves in his mission here, we learn something else about him and we all shake our heads and nod in agreement...

"oh, THAT'S what he meant".

We wonder, If we all knew everything that he knew, would we handle it with his same grace?

It's not so much what we know, as he always said, but how we allow that knowledge to affect our human condition.

Seriously Pattyangel, you only get information through friends and forum posters?? Wow, kids don't try this in school. Well considering you've been to several doctors and have not been asked, I guess the truth should be pretty obvious even for someone with such limited un-verified information streams.

Oh NeoDinar, unfortunately I fell for your tactic of straying of the original topic. So for now I won't even think of continuing to address your off topic responses. ;)

I told my wife the other day: If you go to the doctor and they ask you if there are firearms in the house, you tell them NO. She gave me this glassy eyed look and said "She did ask and I said yes". I told her the Dr. has no business asking such a queation. The government already knows about most of them and I am sure knows where I live. I have heard about this "medical inquiry" for a few years but this is the first personal experience I've had. It does happen.

How did I "stray"? I presented actual evidence that negates the ridiculous and obviously false emails that have been going around. How was I to know you ignore actual verifiable facts and accept email chain rumors? Just trying to help, seems odd you would post this looking for verification considering you take everything your friends tell you as "truth". Your friend's email should have been all the verification you needed by that logic. Just trying to actually make sense of what you're claiming.
