YES it is illegal to remove IQD from Iraq (per Iraqi Law). Yes people are selling it. That law has not always been in effect. Several years went by before they decided to implement it. There are NUMEROUS brokers that have stockpiled it. There are also legal ways for a bank to obtain it. As for the people flying on milair to leave the country, its alot easier to depart with the currency. Once in Kuwait, there are no laws governing IQD. When I left on my R&R in 2004, there were no laws in place at that time and therefor I have will have no issues trading it. That law is a moot point unless you are leaving through BIAP and clearing Iraqi customs.

The bill scanned in were issued and are obtainable. They IMO are not part of the lower denoms. What everyone WANTS to see is anything lower than a 50. The actual exchange of money for goods is limited to how how of a currency you have (IE: exchange rate is $1=1170IQD, there is no way of making that rate work when ur lowest denom is a 50. So the vendors trade at 1200/1 )

About time someone figured out that not all people with a good reputation are good. Not all people with a bad reputation are bad either. Its all about where thet heart lies in the mix with the people you wanna trust.

Nice racially motivated post. So why stop at "camel jockey"? Shall we hit all other races too? Not to come across as a bigot or anything BUT this is nothing more than either hatered or ignorance. Frankly its rather offensive.

So for the record, bread isnt 5M IQD. There will be a brain drain, much as there was in the gulf war. There are mattresses stuffed with IQD. Yes they did print new money and somehow somebody saw fit to let the citizens exchange their old for new. There are more than one generation living in a household. That creates more than one income, usually, to live off of. There are many wealthy families just as there are many poor ones. If they do become wealthy again by world standards, God knows they have earned it. Not every Iraqi Citizen wants to leave and if they did that does not mean they would stay gone. There are many alternatives here (Iraq) that unless you have been here, you wouldnt know about. Sad part is, ANYONE that says a loaf of bread costs XXXIQD is not worth listening to. they obviousley have no clue. Make sure and educate urselves on what the region has to offer. Just a hint into that statement, they dont sell wonder bread or any version of bread you are gonna get at a local grocery store in the states. If you havent been here then maybe you should let the ones that are talk. You have 2 ears and 1 mouth for a reason people. Think about it.
-
Sad part is everyone seems to think this is all perpetrated by Iraqis. Not all terrorist in Iraq are Iraqi. Not all Iraqis are terrorists. I do have an idea though. If someone can come up with a GREAT idea for being able to reason things out with a radical, then just maybe the violence would stop. Radiacals and terrorists are to blame, try not to group it all together. The Iraqis I know want nothing more than peace in their country but for the last 30 years have had to deal with the fear of reprisal. So before judgement is passed on Iraq as a whole, maybe we should take a look inside ourselves. his is the kind of thinking that starts a cultural stereotype. Hate to say it but it definatley needs to be said. Educate and learn about the people first before you judge all because of the actions of a few.
-
Sad part is, the amout of the RV/RI/RD is unimportant. The fact that it has yet to happen is key. Never wonder how Americans in general get stereotyped, as money hungry people who have no regard for anything but themselves, happens. Go figure it would come off as this. Hate to say it but we all did it to ourselves. If anyone would like to come on over to Iraq and help speed it al up, by all means join us. If not, then sit there and wait. We are a lil busy at the moment.

Saying that Muslims are suppose to be fasting is like saying all christians are suppose to live by the 10 commandments. Make sure your house is not made of glass before making blanket statements. NOT all muslims participate in the Ramadan tradition. ALSO there is a christian populace in Iraq. However small, they are still here. So breakfast is not out of the question.
-
Iraqis are celebrating Ramadan. They are observing it as usual. Where did you hear they were not. Anyone that understands the muslim faith also understands that above all else, their faith comes first.

I have lived in Iraq for 7+ years and am also invested in IQD. My home is in GA but that is merely where my heart is. My head hits a pillow in Iraq. Get to visit every year for a few weeks and so on. thinking that is what you meant. So yes even though I live here, I am invested. I am American through and through. Just reside in a different country for awhile is all.

Iraqi Dinar -no longer allowed to leave out of country
NSDQ replied to JamieS's topic in Dinar Rumors
Last I remember, military and almost all american contractors DO NOT fly out of terminals in Baghdad. I have a guy on base NOW, as I write this, in Baghdad leaving the country with no issues whatsoever. When you leave from a base traveling military air, you do not pass through Iraq customs control. The actual law of removing IQD from the country in this manner has been in place for quite awhile. This is not new news by any stretch. The enforcment of this law in the Baghdad Intl Airport (BIAP) may be new. However, there is no practical way for all military/contractor personnel departing the Iraqi Theater to be searched to the point of total conformity of an Iraqi Law. It is not only impractical but unrealistic. The amount of people that get transported daily is phenominal for such a small amount of personnel that manage the actual travel of said people. Bottom line is, if you want your dinar out of country it will get out of country. -
PM Maliki orders investigation into helicopter crash
NSDQ replied to k98nights's topic in Iraq & Dinar Related News
As far as Maliki playing nice with the Kurds, dont see how this sarticle says that at all. The Kurds, Shia and Sunni will be involved in this investigation. They all have members of their sects in the military. This Aircraft went down and they need to know why. 100 Percent certain what happened. They have upwards of 20 more of the same aircraft and if it is a part failure, that can be corrected before more lives are lost. They also need to reveall if a lack of training for inciment weather was a factor. If that was the case, again that can be corrected. Was it shot down? Not at all IMO. Were lives lost needlessly, yes. Were these guys friends of mine, yes. Is the US airforce pushing for the investigation, yes. Is anyne making nice with Kurds, nope. They are just doing what needs to be done to protect further country men from suffering the same fate as the 5 on Wensday. Those 5 men were great people. Large hearts and had nothing but love for the USA. They will be missed for sure by many. And that mission for the "Karbala Pilgrims" had been ongoing for several days before this. Nothing new. -
Did Desert Shield/Storm. Hit boots on ground in 2003 and been here ever since.

Iraqi News Court-martial of Navy SEAL opens in Iraq
NSDQ replied to soldier4freedom's topic in Iraq & Dinar Related News
Cant believe the guy made it to prison. You train a navy SEAL to do a job. He does this job. He is trained to do what he FEELS is needed to get the desired result. Then you throw em under a bus. SWEET, sign me up. Personally, this mastermind wouldnt have needed a cell but rather a box. -

You my friend , have hit the nail on the poverbial head!!!!! Nobody has a clue except for the people that need to know and I am thinking certain select individuals are not it the circle of the know. Why would they be? Their decisions are not going to affect a country or its economy, maybe their own but not Iraqs. -
