So ... I have just listened to Pimpys "delete the zeros " video. The reality is NOBODY really knows what they are gonna do. For me pimpy  is in the same league as Mark z Frank and tnt Tony. He makes it very convoluted , which to some might make him sound intelligent. I have to agree with 1 of the commentators on his video who stated that the cbi have said the notes will co exist and that there is no way the countries who are now owed money from Iraq are going to allow then to just lop their currency. Whether the goat is right on timing or not I don't believe J P Morgan and Co are there for a currency to LOP.

@edbeach... I get where you are coming from . We have all got plans for when this hits. However, all our plans are going down the toilet if they take the zeros off the currency. Like you I have been here a long time and that is the last thing I want. If this goes right for us I can retire at least 15 yrs early.

Yeah if they delete the zeros from the currency we will be lucky to break even. But at the same time the CBI has stated that the new currency and the 3 zero notes would co exist and the larger notes would be used for interbanking practices as they gather them in. so I Don see how that works if they take the zeros off the currency

IMHO....and I maybe wrong a gradual float from where they are now does nothing for investors or the citizens. I think they need to start either just above or just below the dollar and float from there. To come straight out the gate at $3+ would be grate but I also think that would be too big a shock to the markets and would set them up to fail dramatically.

Surly this needs them to have a stronger rate if they want investment. 10/10 for their efforts. It looks and sounds impressive but the rate as it is currently would not attract me to do buisnees

I agree but I am also wondering if this is just the rate they have calculated the 3 Yr budget at ? Is there any confirmation anywhere that it states in the budget that the rate is variable ?

Is this Al Kazemi the former pm? If they don't release the budget and give them purchasing power soon, like they have been promised this could get worse. Sudanese did tell them to hold on to their dinars because it is stronger.

@cody406 No I brought it for you all to read. It is the start of her latest newsletter. The rest of it was a blow by blow account of the budget in parliament  so I didn't bother with it as we all know about that and the length of time it took them.

Iraq: 2023, 2024, 2025 Budget Saga

So, here is the status on the parliamentary voting of the 2023, 2024 and 2025 budgets. I tried to give you a good overview of what took place these last 4-5 days culminating in completing the passing of the budget, getting it ratified and in the gazette.

Remember this is important not because the RV rate is in it because it will NEVER be in the budget as I was proven correct once again. All I can say is “I Told You So!” 😊. Yes, bla, bla, bla TNT Tony the idiot. The rate used in the budget is $IQD 1300 per 1 $USD certaily not hte rate we are looking for, so I told you so.

But please do not go off half-cocked thinking that the RV is not going to happen just because of the 1300 rate. Like I have been saying all along, this rate is NOT important and this rate is “flexible”. I assur you that the reinstatement if going to happen and is just around teh bend. Did you actually think that the Finance Committee was going to tell us the timing of the RV and to confirm the RV rate so we could go out and buy more dinars, etc…. This would be over speculating and totally out of the realm of even common sense. Get it?

I am still under the timing of quite possibly going to the bank sometime this week. I would be VERY surprised if we don’t. But remember if we don’t, it will still be VERY soon. No one can know of the time or date. Get it? I was told by my CBI contact they must get the budget passed first, then ratified. I am hearing from my CBI contact that it does not have to be in the gazette, but that to get the green light for the reinstatement they need it passed in parliament and ratified. The Kurds must be happy! Remember the president is a Kudistan appointed position. All I can say now is ……………

I have just read Mountain Goats news letter. Yeah , I know she is just a guru ... not any different from the rest. I prefer her to Frank or Mark z or Tony. Anyway, she is still hopeful for sometime this week or soon after the budget is ratified.

If and when the inflation comes , it is the CBI's job to manage that. Achange in the rate plus there reserves will / would support it

Well us folks who have been here for year know this. But we also read articles with care and have educated ourselves. Others have been here a while but fail to try and educate themselves or understand and then continue to ask stupid questions and still expect to be spoon fed. IMHO

I don't think it will drop at all. Maybe a few pips but I would be surprised if it is a dramatic change. As long as the parallel market is functioning  nowt will change. They need the dinar to either equal a dollar or be just above it for the citizens to really buy into the dinar being stronger. 

I hope we are not stuck here for another 3 yrs but it is Iraq so anything is possible. What does make me wonder is if they have no intention of changing the rate why tell the iraqi people to use dinar because it is stronger. ? Yeah they need away from MCP but if the rate doesn't change the people will continue to look for dollars. IMHO

No offence taken . I get all of what you said and I live in an area of Scotland where Sectarianism is a huge huge issue. so I understand sectarianism . I am not upset . Just calling it how I see it
