  1. Ok but ... is this not the R U M O R section, wherein it is assumed that everything in here is a RUMOR? Before clicking on this link, we would all do well to think to ourselves 'HELLOOOOOOO this is the RUMOR SECTION, and everything said in here is to be taken as a RUMOR, meaning PROBABLY NOT TRUE, which means NOT CREDIBLE.' There should be a sign on the door above this whole area saying "This be the Rumor Section. Abandon Faith All Ye Who Enter Here." You wouldn't knock on a wall and expect someone to answer it, or pick up a kitten and expect it to bark at you ... and yet, you come in here and get in the face of the person who posts a RUMOR in the section devoted entirely to RUMORS. There is no need to justify anything when it's posted in here, because it's probably A RUMOR. Were we in the same room and I saw you all upset over this to the point that you took the time to say to their face what you've said in here, you would soon find yourself gently taken by the hand by me, and directed towards the entrance to this place, whereupon I would simply point to the sign above the door that says "THIS IS THE RUMOR SECTION." To assist you in the future, and for clarity for anyone else reading this post, I have found the very definition of rumor: "Rumor: [roo-mer] – noun 1. a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts: a rumor of war. 2. gossip; hearsay: Don't listen to rumor. 3. Archaic . a continuous, confused noise; clamor; din. –verb (used with object) 4. to circulate, report, or assert by a rumor: It is rumored that the king is dead." (source: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/rumor) If it's going to bother you that much, WHY COME HERE in the first place? Respectfully ~
  2. I thank you for the kind words. It seems properly fitting, seeing as how I've always had a fondness and a wee small soft spot for all things Gaelic or Scots in nature. Ye will have a verra blessed day, won't ye, then luv?
  3. Thank you so much for all you do. I bow to thee, and to your greatness. I attempted to imbed the photo into the body of this post, but seeing as how I'm technologically challenged, I couldn't find the blinking neon sign that says "Imbed Your Dinar Picture Here", so I attached it instead. Have a happy day!! BJB AHEM... so I attached it, instead ...
  4. If, by some miracle, you ended up in possession of an American $1,000 bill, (say, you happened to find it on the street ... like I said, by some miracle) you couldn't spend it as such, because American $1,000 bills have been taken out of circulation. There's not an establishment anywhere in America that would accept it, should you try to buy something with it. "Can you break this?" Uhh ... no, not so much. Even if you tried to buy something that cost $999, they'd still look at you funny, and think the bill was fake, because no one ever has them anymore. HOWEVER, if you went to your bank, you would be given ten $100 bills in exchange for the ONE $1,000 bill. You WOULD have the $1,000 dollars ... just not the SINGLE PIECE OF PAPER that denotes the $1,000 bill, because the $1,000 bills have been removed from circulation. They're still floating around, and they do still exist ... but they're VERY rare. That does not mean the $1,000 bill was lopped. It means that the large denomination $1,000 bill was taken out of circulation. It DOES NOT change the VALUE of the thousand dollar bill. It's STILL WORTH $1,000. They simply want less of the big bills floating around. That's my take, anyway. GO RV !!!
  5. From your tone, you make it sound like I'm too lazy to go and find it myself ... which is rich coming from you, who were too lazy yourself to put your money where your mouth is in your original post in the first place. I am responding to YOUR post which began this thread, and which has nothing in the way of substantiation. "Hello kettle ... this is pot. You're black." Seeing as how your original post has a -19, it sure looks like I'm not alone in thinking that you're wrong. I stand by what I said: No link, no credibility. I, however, have a link to something that should keep you busy for a little while, and it's posted in this very message board, in this very section, Lop Talk. It's here and it contains this statement: "The Central Bank of Iraq has announced their plans to redenominate the Iraqi Dinar to ease cash transactions. By the end of 2010, they intend to drop three zeros from the nominal value of bank notes. It should be noted that the actual value of the dinar will remain unchanged. " See, finding a link, copying and pasting really takes very little physical and mental effort. I'm sure if you tried, even you could do it. Run along now ... GO RV !!!!
  6. Until and unless you can produce a link that backs up your statement, you will have no credibility, and I will lump you in the same group as all the pumpers who keep saying they know the date and the rate. "It's becoming more and more likely that we'll see a lop ..." BASED ON WHAT !?!?!?! No link = no cred. GO RV !!
  7. That was exactly my point in the other thread, where I used the Don Imus debacle from a few years ago as an example of where freedom of speech was NOT the issue. When Imus said what he said, he DID have the right to say it. However, as his employer, CBS had the right to deem his views and statements while on the clock and as an employee of CBS as inappropriate, and so they fired him ... as is THEIR right as employer. That kerfuffle was not a freedom of speech issue; it was an employer-dissatisfied-with-employee issue. Yes, we have freedom of speech here in the U S of A. This means that I can walk up to any elected official and tell them that I think they're doing a bad job without fear of being thrown in jail and having my tongue cut out. Freedom of speech does, however, operate within boundaries, parameters, rules and other things we call 'laws', which is why it's illegal to stand up in a crowded theater and shout "FIRE!!!" There's a gray area of misunderstanding, and what happened here isn't censorship. It's the management making an executive decision, as is their right. GO RV !!!!
  8. Whoremongers? Who (thefeck) ARE you? ... and in an effort to give you some class and refinement (lost cause though it may be), stop with the big loud font. Your words speak volumes about the kind of person you are, all by themselves. You don't need to shout like that - we hear you. Go in peace, but please just go. I don't even know you, but the whoremonger remark is uncalled for and in VERY bad form. Good day.
  9. ... and you live where, exactly, Gasketman? (Yes, I'm a woman) GO RV !!!
  10. omGGGGG Is THAT all the money I could have saved by switching to Geiko? I always feel like somebody's watching me ... GO RV !!!!! Hi chad ... Why would the whales go in now, when it hasn't RV'd yet? They wouldn't make any money on it ... right?
  11. Does this mean that .86 to 1.30 is too low, in your opinion? We keep seeing differing speculations, so I guess I'm looking for a consensus of sorts ... GO RV !!!!!
  12. GREAT post, Bballs. Your arguments are very compelling and convincing, given the fact that the WTO doesn't give out extensions, and that all of the arrows do point to this being a matter of live and death - literally - for the nation of Iraq and her people. I appreciate the prison analogy, and it really does fit. If they want to be let out of this prison, it must happen. It wouldn't surprise me if they waited until June 30, 2011 23:59:59 Baghdad time before the hammer is dropped ... as long as it happens!! It's 'pins and needles' time, and I'll be happy with any rate, even if it's the .86 that's been floating around. GO RV !!!! P.S. BBalls = basket balls? BBalls = baseballs? The mind wanders ... and wonders ...
  13. Hey steve ... If you wouldn't mind, please refer to this link on DV message board for chat logs, in which you added this post yesterday: In this post today, Delta states that the rate will be one thing and not until 2013, and in the other post from yesterday, it'll be another thing and definitely this month. Can you understand our frustration at the disparity? I DO appreciate your efforts to keep us in the loop ... but your credibility takes a bit of a hit when you post A on one board, and then B on another board, and the posts directly contradict each other. Much of the time, we as readers don't know what to believe, and you're not making it any easier, my friend. This is meant to be constructive, and as a friendly request for perhaps some double-checking ? I thank you for your service and sacrifice to this great nation, and respectfully ask which one you think is true, so that I know which to believe. GO RV !!!
  14. Well done, easyrider!! Punctuated (almost all the way, even) and you even used capital letters!! Bravo!! I give you my coveted golf clap for your efforts. *golf clap* clap clapclapclapclapclap clap clapclapclap* Regarding the large denom conundrum, I understand that it doesn't make sense to not honor our large denoms, which is why I HOPE that I'm wrong in how I interpreted what was said. Thanks for the confirmation that I am, in fact, not completely insane, but merely suffering from an inability to grasp that simple concept - call it 'temporary insanity re: large denoms' if you will. GO RV !!!!
  15. "THIS AFTERNOON SHABBI GAVE A TELEVISED SPEECH ADDRESSING THE RE-DENOMINATION OF THE DINAR—THE REMOVAL OF THE 3 ZEROS OFF THEIR MONEY AND THE ISSUANCE OF NEW CURRENCY (LOWER DENOMS)" The part that scares me a little is the part about issuing new currency. I do understand that they need to issue new currency for the lower denoms (1's ... 5's ... 10's ... 20's etc), but someone PLEASE tell me that the issuance of the new denoms in country won't affect us out here with our bigger notes. Every time I hear 'new currency', it makes me think that the old will not be honored. I think/hope that I'm missing something or have some kind of block which prevents me from wrapping my brain around this ... but I'm wrong about our big notes not being honored, right? Umm ... help? GO RV !!!
  16. Well spoken, indeed, Movie Maker. My intent was to encourage easyrider to be both! GO RV !!!!
  17. I didn't mean to offend, and I'm glad that you took no offense. As far as Delta ... lawd above I hope he's right!!
  18. I have to say this ... easyrider, are you punctuation-challenged? Do you not understand how difficult your posts are to read, because you never use question marks, or periods where you should? I'm sure you're a smart fellow and that your ideas are sound, but I really can't tell sometimes because of the way you present yourself in writing. I do make attempts to read you, but I usually give up because I don't like having to figure out where your sentences end and begin. Regarding the post at hand, you do have a point: Why would Delta lie? I agree with you there ... but PLEASE take an extra nanosecond to punctuate !!! Just a friendly request. GO RV !!!
  19. The tag line of this thread is something about freedom of speech ... which is all fine and good, as far as it goes. Freedom is NOT true freedom, and it must come at a price. I say this because while we ARE free, we must all operate within certain limits, boundaries, rules and other things called 'laws.' Yes, we as Americans operate under our constitutional right for freedom of speech, but it's also illegal to stand up in a crowded theater and shout "FIRE!!!!" because of the clear danger of harm in the crush when everyone rushes to the exits ... that sort of thing. Yes, we have freedom of speech, but it's not like our actions don't come with consequences! Yes, we have freedom of speech at this site ... but Adam is the Law here, and as such, he has the final say for what he can and cannot live with. Some may call that censorship, or other more harsh terms, but it's not. It's called "Protecting Your Investment." Adam carries the weight of running this site, and if I were in charge and I saw a post like this one, whoever was involved would be gone ... and this principle is also why Don Imus got axed. Yes, he was free to say what he said, but as his employers, CBS Radio had the perfect right to fire him because CBS has their OWN policies for what they deem appropriate for on air discussions and remarks. As an EMPLOYER, CBS thought he was out of line, so he got fired. That was NOT a freedom of speech issue - it was Imus operating outside of the parameters set forth by CBS issue, and they didn't like what they were hearing, so bu bieee Mr. Imus. So it is with Adam, at this site. If he wants to ban anyone for doing what he thinks is inappropriate, then it's his call. Being a newbie to this site, I don't know all of the squabbles everyone is talking about ... but I do know who is in charge and who isn't. Adam is in charge here, and anyone who doesn't like how he manages this site is free to leave. Go in peace, but please just go if you're that unhappy. That's my GO RV!!
  20. Don't let a disagreement or a difference of opinion sway you from doing what you're doing. As much as you have the perfect right to post things as you see them (which you're quite good at, I might add), so does everyone have the same perfect right to give an opposing view ... it's just how we roll. He didn't get personal - at worst, the reply was a little abrasive, but sandpaper does have it's uses. Without it, our floors would be rough and we'd all have splinters in our feet ... you know what I mean? You can't please everyone, and if everyone agreed or stated no dissenting opinion, the world would be a very boring place. He disagreed ... so what so what so what. In all sincerity, what does it matter? You're not wrong in what you've posted, and that's the important thing for you to focus on. If someone wants to squawk at you, so what. At the end of the day, we're just a few thousand people who are patiently waiting for this miracle to happen. After the RV, I expect the population of this and many other sites devoted to the dinar to drop substantially, as we go about doing our good deeds with our once in a lifetime windfalls. Keep doing what you're doing !! GO RV
  21. I might be a newbie to this site, but I'm not totally green (font color notwithstanding) when it comes to this investment. You would have a lot more credibility with us if you could give corroborating facts to back up what you've said here, such as links to anything that proves that Forex really does have actual branch offices in Iraq, or that World Bank has officially signed off on Iraq entering the global market, or that the director of Iraqi markets (who is not named in your post) said anything about how the RV will be (or not be) announced. Those are VERY bold statements, and if they're true, then RV really isn't just a dream anymore - it's imminent. However, without any links to back up your statements, you really do sound like just another pumper. You have to understand our dilemma, as readers of this post ... right?
  22. K, but he doesn't want to exchange any dinar - he wants to p u r c h a s e some dinar. He wants to buy it ... not sell it or exchange it. BIG difference
  23. Hi there ~ If you're familiar with LA, head over to the Century City Shopping Center on Santa Monica Blvd. Drive in the parking structure until you find the escalator in the orange section, and at the top of the escalator is an information kiosk. Next to the kiosk is a foreign exchange place called C E I for Currency Exchange International. That's where I've purchased all of my dinar. The fee is $3 per purchase, no matter how much you buy. The last time I was there, they had 10,000 and 25,000 notes only and a nice stack of each. I've gone there several times, and the only complaint I have is that sometimes they are helping other customers at the window, and I have to wait ... but there's a See's Candies just 100' from C E I, so you're good. Dark chocolate bordeaux ... it's one of my reasons for living! GO RV !!!
  24. In simple terms, it goes like this: Anytime that anyone makes money on any kind of investment, whether it's a stock trade or currency exchange, you invest your money or what is called 'capital', and any profit you earn from your investment is what they call a 'capital gain'. As such, the capital gain is considered income, ergo we have to pay tax on it.
  25. Hey zipper ... Forget the gurus, the hype, the promises, and all of that other stuff for a few minutes, and focus on what MLM, in and of itself, really means. MLM has absolutely n o t h i n g to do with what's happening in Dinarville. MLM isn't about investing - it's about SELLING something, and then recruiting more people to sell it, too. I submit to you a primer on how multi level marketing works, having been involved in it a few times. The example I will use is from when I was a rep for a candle company that did candle parties similar to Tupperware parties, only instead of plastic storage stuff, it was candles: For MLM to exist, a product needs to be manufactured, sold, and purchased. Then, someone who has bought the product (say ... Person A) decides that they really really like said product, so they decide to sell it themselves. Then, Person A goes out and finds some other people to buy the product, in the hopes that these new people will ALSO really really like the product, and who will ALSO want to SELL the product (let's call them Persons B, C, D and E.) and be part of Person A's Team. So, person A now has a team of people whom he has recruited sell this wonderful product UNDER him ... which means that every time person B, C, D or E makes a sale, person A profits ... ergo multi level marketing. In order for Multi Level Marketing to happen, you need MULTI LEVELS of sellers, working under ONE PERSON (at the start anyway.) Here's where the fun really starts for person A ... If person B decides to get their own team together with persons F G H I and J, then person B has THEIR own gig, and every time person F G H I or J makes a sale, not only does person B profit - person A profits, too, because person A brought in person B, so person A profits from anything DIRECTLY sold by person B ... and also INdirectly from anything sold by person B's team. Now, when someone buys dinar, the only one who profits is the seller of said dinar - until the RV. Then, the purchaser will also profit, but no one underneath the purchaser profits unless it's a sex .......................... umm ... nevermind. It's not like I got a bunch of dinar, and now I want you to sell it for me, and then you have someone under you selling it and I make a profit from you and from them. It's not that kind of deal. It's A to B, seller to buyer, and that's where it ends. I rest my case.
