Six years in Iraq?? I spent sixteen months in Vietnam and that was more than enough. There's something about hostile fire and combat that wears on you. But six years in Iraq. I'm impressed.

If this a lie I dont know if I'm mad or sad. I'm a Vietnam veteran and served as a Platoon Leader with the 2/7, 1st Air Cav. I get offended when someone claims to be in harms way but isnt. It's a disservice to those who are or were. Getting shot at (and worse) in the A Shau Valley is not fun.

I guess I wasnt clear enough. I was referring to Canada not sending combat units. As a veteran with 16 months in combat (1st Cav) I trust you're not lumping me in with draft dodgers,etc. Sorry. I get a little testy about Vietnam. But its my fault---I brought it up.

We could have used some Canadian help in Vietnam. I saw Australians (fighting I might add) but Canadians---not a one. Korea too-but thats another story

I'm a Vietnam veteran. When I think of Memorial Day, I dont think of myself. Instead I honor all the brave young troopers I served with over there who didnt make it back. Jeff P
