I know what you mean and besides that it would take numerous pages in this thread to list them. I would even have to go back to the OT and refresh myself to list all the killings, but as we know, God wanted a holy people for Himself. Most of his covenants to Israel were blessings or curses depending upon their obedience. As you know, we have a just God, He has always been long suffering and full of mercy but His judgement is always deserved as all are sinners and deserve death. Many don't understand how a loving God can bring about such destruction. We only understand this when we truely know how Holy He is and how sinful we are and when we truely try to live His standards instead of our own. It's impossible but his love and mercy shown thru when he sent is Son. It is so great to write to someone who truely understands what's going on in the Bible and knows these words are not my own but Gods very revelation to us. Yes, the earth was filled with violence (Gen.6:11) but there are more reasons for His judgement. Wickedness increased to the degree that God had to destroy to cleanse (Gen 6:5. Judgement was neccessary not only because of evil v5, but they had no desire for godliness. Sin of every kind was rampant. The rulers commanded the peoples worship Lest we forget the sins of Seth and Cain.....then there was the corruption of race. The sons of God went into the daughters, married and had children. The most important fact to remember is: evil started seeping it's way into generational bloodlines so much it would have been certain to have an effect on the generations to come. . There is so much more for us to understand. But yes violence was among the reasons for the flood.

You are absolutely right 8th ID....the OT is full of mass killings. Many by Gods own hand or his Angel's and many, many that He delivered up for Israel's taking. Umb, there are many mass killings recorded in the OT. Here are just a few 1. The Flood (Genesis 6-8 2. The cities of the plain, including Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen. 18-19 3. The Egyptian firstborn sons during the passover (Exodus 11-12 4. The Canaanites under Moses and Joshua. (Numbers 21:2-3, Deuteronomy 20:17, and Joshua 6:17,21. The 1st 3 examples of Gods own hands as there were no human agents involved. In these mass killings either God himself or his Angel's carried out these killings directly. #4, the mass killings of the Canaanites is a case of Gods people, the nation of Israel, which were commanded by God to attack and kill. This was not genocide but Gods judgement and was intended to be expulsion from the land that God had promised to Israel. The mass killing was also because of the Canaanites wickedness (Deuteronomy 9:4-6. Their detestable practices ( Deuteronomy 18:12 and in (Leviticus 18:24-25) God says; "Even the land was defiled; so I will punish it for its sin, and the land vomited out its inhabitants." And yes, God has ordered mass killings and destruction and it was done in the name of the Lord. Here is something for you to think about Umb........God gave Israel the land of milk and honey from the very beginning. It was a covenant that God made with them. No one but Israel will actually ever own this land except Israel. Others may claim it, fight over it and even occupy it for a time but in the end Israel will have ALL that God has promised them. This is what 8th ID is speaking of. There will be mass killings again all that God may bring about his promised covenant. Israel WILL HAVE ALL THAT HAS BEEN PROPHESIED. As you can see here the Bible gives us the history of the beginnings, the history of our present and the history of our future...The Bible gives us the answers to ALL OF OUR WHYS. Umb, thank you for your answer but I actually was asking a rhetorical question to get everyone to think about the plan that God has for every man on the face of the earth regardless of nationality or race. We only have 2 options here....heaven or hell...there is no in between.....sitting in the middle of the fence renders hell ...

Once again Umb, if you really want the real truth about culture, history and the belief of other religions......turn to the truth and the revelation that God brings to us. THE BIBLE......

my question is this...are muslims, muslims because of their skin color, because of their religious belief or because they are from the middle east? Have they ALL been indoctrinated into the belief of the koran. God tells us that He will make Abraham the Father of many nations. Wasn't it Gods plan to save some of every nationality, race and creed. Are all muslims terrorists? If the blood of Christ is strong enough to save even one of us sinners, isn't it enough to save even a Muslim or any other country that goes against us. I guess what I'm trying to say here, is that this is part of God's own plan. Terrorists will not thwart what God ordained before the foundation of the earth. As LGD stated, the book of Revelation gives us many answers and what our end will be, but it won't be because the terrorist have made the plans, it will be by the mighty hand of God

I can appreciate your thought here but I personally could not and would not read such blasphemy..I believe the Bible is quite adequate to all of us to explain false gods, spiritual warfare and the nature of satan and his works. Gods word explains exactly what His children are up against. The OT is explicit and explains exactly what other religions believe and how they try to capture Gods very own. This is very evident in Israel being captured and killed over and over in the OT because they were His chosen, this has continued and will continue thru out history to all that believe upon the name of Jesus Christ. I just do not need to read others ideology and what their plans are when Gods true word has already brought forth what His true plan is. Just my thought here, but why read something when we already have the truth?

It would seem that this quote "if you're not with us, your against us" came straight out of the Bible. In other words "if you are not a child of Gods, you are a child of the devils. I suggest to all here, instead of reading the Koran, read the Bible. Karsten, I listened to the above and find it so complex that it was hard for me to even think that the elite, government and all else could be involved in such evil.....Am I to think that I along with the majority of "little" or simple minded people could be so naive and out of touch with the evils of this world. I just don't know what to think or say about this. Could these things be true and if so how has it been kept such a secret? Do the congregation of the underground world have such tightly sown lips and sworn to such secrecy that we are nothing more than mushrooms? Do you think these things are true. It would seem they always turn things around to fit their own narrative and agenda. I sometimes wear a MAGA hat on wed nights to Bible study as we don't dress up on wed nights and I don't have to do my hair. Plus we all are Trump folks. The only other place I would wear my hat would be a Trump rally. The reason is not because I put fear in others (libs) but they put fear in me. I have voiced my opinion for one on the left that I could live with if we had no where else to turn but it would seem her own party refuses to bring about any support for her. If they can't support their own how can the people that do back the left support them. Umb, thanks and I know you love to read and by the looks of many of you post you love history and the things that really make this world tick. The Bible tells us of the past and I mean in the very beginning, how it all started. Its tells of the present and best of all it tells o us of the future which noone could ever forecast except God all mighty Himself. I wish you would you would buy a Bible and start reading it.....you will be amazed at Godswork and how much he loves us....He'll change your heart and transform your life. He can and will give you assurance of eternal life after death. Yes, this is the God of the Bible, the supreme being that is our creator. I of course suggest buying a King James Version Bible (KJV) but hey there are several translations that will bring you his true and holy word. If you do buy one, I would suggest you start reading the gospel of John, you will find out just how much God really does love his people. Then maybe jump into the Old Testament (Genesis) and find out about Adam and Eve and the beginning of mankind. I'm praying for you Umb. The Holy Spirit opens our eyes to see the real truth about God and he opens our ears to hear this truth but we must be willing to seek, see and hear. your story reminds me of some of my childhood. We use to to a lot of skeet shooting. Dad had a 12 gauge and of course bird shot was our load but I would always have black and blue shoulder hit. My brother and dad would hunt anything wild but one year fox were on the rampage here in Tn. killing every ones chickens, sheep and even attacked cattle. A lot of farmers would ask my dad to hunt on their farm land and kill all the fox he could. Besides that the hides of fox were selling at a all time high, especially red fox so off my dad and brother would go every night. I know, I know they were wrong to spotlight and call the fox in with a recording of baby fox pups but this was back in the 60s, a different time from today. Any way, I guess I was jealous that my brother had more of my dad's attention than I did so I would beg every night to please let me go with them. Finally one night he did. Our lights were set and the recording was a howling and dad was going to let me take the 1st shot. I stood in the back of our ole pick up locked and loaded and here she came......I fired, I missed but that 12 gauge felt like I had never felt it before. I was kicked back all the way to the cab of the truck. Back and blue was an understatement. I never ask about the load he was using but I know it was more than a y birdshot that I was use to shooting, I guess it had to be powerful to kill a fox because they were hard to kill and if not hit in just the right spot they would get up and run. I never ask to go fox hunting again and my brother still goads me to this day about what a sissy fox hunter I was.

Umb....I'm out of greenies and trophies right now but I will check ya tomorrow. But to give a answer to you question, I have to go to the word of God and what he has revealed to us. It is SIN and none of us are innocent or free from it. The Bible tells us that God is good, he is wise, all knowing, all loving, all merciful and all powerful just as you indicated. So, you ask how can He allow so much suffering, pain, evil and even death. If we are to believe the Bible, which I do, we must go back to the very beginning. In Genesis we find that God made all of creation in 6 days and He said it was "very good" (Genesis 1:31) Gods creation wasn't broken or marred with sin but was upheld perfectly by Him. But Umb, it didn't stay that way because he had made Adam and Eve and He gave the the choice of being obedient to Him or to be disobedient to Him. He told them His expectations. He told them what they could and could not do......they chose disobedience and to follow the evils of satan which God directly told them not to do. You know the story. The punishment of disobedience and rebellion was death. (Genesis 2:17/ 3:1-24.) Gods creation had become broken after this sin, not just broken for man but Gods whole creation. Did you know in a Bibical view that death isn't a natural part of our world: death is actually an intruder and a enemy to the world brought on by Satan and our very own sin and rebellion. (1Corinthian 15:26). It is because of the 1st man Adam that we suffer from pain, disease and death (Roman's 8:22) Adam was given headship over all mankind. With his disobedience came original sin that has been imputed to every man, woman and child born. God gave fair warning but sadly Adam disobeyed therefore we could and should say God is not responsible for pain, suffering and death that is all around us but WE are responsible for it because of our sin in Adam. (Original sin) . Our problems doesn't rest on God but it rest squarely on the shoulders of mankind in our rebellion against our Creator. The Bible tells us that "there is none that is good, no not one." You and I and everyone ever born deserve death, we deserve His wrath, we are sinners and rebellious against our maker. That's why God sent Jesus, because of His love and His mercy for us. Hs is willing to forgive mankind only because Jesus Christ lived the life full of obedience and righteousness that God demanded for eternal life with Him from the beginning. Jesus met and fullfilled ever requirement that Adam failed. I know I have expressed the cross and Jesus our Saviour to you before so I know that you know what I'm speaking of. Umb, this life will always have pain, suffering and death. Even as believes we still have a sinful nature. BUt Jesus died for us so that we may have the life that he had promised Adam if Adam had of been obedient to His word. Free of suffering, pain and death. Jesus paid the price for you and me. He suffered the wrath that you and I deserve in our rebellion. When this ole world is gone and IT IS COMING TO A END SOMEDAY. GOD SAYS SO. But all that believe in Gods revelation to us and the gospel of our Lord Jesus will suffer no more. There will be no more death, no more pain. There will be no more sin, disobedience or rebellion against our Creator. We will live in perfect unity in the new heavens and the new earth with Him our God that we love and glorify for His holy attributes. Unbelievers of Gods word will find themselves in eternal hell....you think pain and suffering is bad now. Oh I have no words for this torment that unbelievers will be face with but like I said there will be no more death. Torment and hell will be for eternity without death also. But until then and it is coming, the simple answer to you question is of our own making and that making is SIN. I only believe in One (1) God so I have no voice about other gods or other beings in other parts of the universe that you spoke of. The Bible speaks nothing/naught of these things. Therefore I cannot believe of these things existence. I pray I have made this understandable to you. Umb, these are the things that God has revealed to us in His word. It's up to us to hear and run towards His voice and heed every word in His holy book. We all must run quickly as we know not when He may return. With the shape this ole world is in and the evil that lurks around every corner it could be any moment that's why He tells us to seek and not put off as there may not be a tomorrow.

I do not carry to church on Sunday mourns or Sunday nights. We have 2 elders that are always present and both carry. But when we have our womens Bible study there are no other women there that carry.. it's always at night and yes I always lock our doors and have my 38 with me. The ladies don't even know it. They would probably grasp at the thought.....hmmmm maybe not but why give them reason to worry.
