Someone correct me if I am wrong. As I understand it you are allowed to give a lifetime gift of up to 13,000 to each of your children. If you are married then that would be 26,000. Anything over that you are responsible for the tax. Now the part Im not sure about is the tax liability for your children. Just reading, most likely they would be responsible for the total amount on there end. Like I said not sure if that is correct. Hope it helps. RV here we go..

13K is correct. An example would be my wife and I could each give my daughter 13k and my son-in-law 13k . Total is 52k.

There you go again using words like "kook". There are a lot of people who think that is exactly what Obama is doing "persuing a socialist agenda", yet you brand them as "kooks".

The plan my wife and I have at work while not very expensive still requires a 6000 deductible. While I consider this a catostrophic plan it really doesnt help with standard well person exams. Our company has over 200 employees so it would have to offer a plan similar to what we have now. If anyone decides that they can get a better deal through the exchanges the company would be taxed at 2000 per person. I understanded that the first 30 would be exempt. I can see it now. If you are employee number 31 and find a better deal thru the exchanges what do you think is going to happen. The company pays 2000 dollars or just lets you go. I think we know the answer to that...
