In my humble opinion, the SEC has nothing to do with organizations that have purchased IQD for resale to private individuals. There is no insider trading going on and our right to invest in Iraq and the IQD was authorized by W's administration. They can investigate all they want. They're probably PO'd that they didn't invest. We as private individuals have nothing to worry about.

A question for you all out there. My employer purchases from GID and always receives his order confirmation number and the completion of his online order. However, today, he was told by GID that they couldn't give him a confirmation number on his order until next Wednesday or Thursday (Sept 8th or 9th). Is this maybe because they possibly know something that we don't? Or, are they anticipating an RV/RI by next week and want to hold on to their IQD? Any intel from anyone out there would be appreciated.

I tend to agree with your brain drain theory. Here in San Antonio, it seems like all the little corner stores are owned by Middle Easterners. Alot are Iraqi and I speak to them regularly regarding the middle east and Iraq. Strangely enough, none are holding IQD. When they left Iraq they left family and country behind. I've talked with them about IQD but they aren't interested. Some are just hoping they can bring the rest of their family to the US.

Something like that Scooby Doo. Example, when the mexican peso devalued back in Dec 85, the mexican people were not instantly poorer. Their economy remained unchanged. The only things that changed were the increased prices in tourist areas and resorts. When the dinar RVs?RIs, Iraqis will still have the same economic woes that they have now. What I've read from the TIPRA is that the 10-15% tax bracket applies to the previous tax year. Like I said, only a tax attorney will know for sure. I'm not a tax expert by any means. Google TIPRA (Tax Increase Prevention & Reconciliation Act of 2005). It talksabout no capital gains taxes if you're in the 10 to 15% bracket. Take this info to a tax attorney and see what they say. As a former Socom soldier, it is apparant that the ignorants (terrorists) are flexing their muscle and making the world know that they are still here. After all, in their clouded eyes, the last US combat troops have left Iraq. However, there are still 50,000 + US troops in Iraq. Although they are classified as support troops, every soldier, sailor, airman and marine is a combat troop first. The terrorists are feeling out Iraqi security forces. It is very unfortunate that they do this by killing innocent civilians. Their lack of compassion for life has always been baffling to our "western way of life". All american troops have been ambassadors of goodwill and justice while they were in Iraq. The Iraqi people have come to depend on the US presence and now terrorists are acting out the only way they know how (with violence) to let the Iraqi people that US combat troops are no longer there. But, they fail to realize that there are still 50,000 + troops still there. Actually, unless you have been among the people of these Mideast countries, it is hard to comprehend the violence and killing between the various tribes. But, in out own American history, before the US really moved west of the Appalachian (?) mountains, there was also fighting amongst the various native american tribes. You really need to read scooters posts, all three parts, that explains the if, whys and possible when of the RV. This will surely improve your dispostion about the RV. With such negativity in your post, it makes me wonder why you're invested.
