  1. Iraqi PM ends China visit with flurry of agreement signings 15 hours ago | 385 Views Mohammed Rwanduzy Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi leads a delegation visit to the city of Shanghai, China on September 23. 2019. Photo: social media ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Iraq’s Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi concluded his five-day trip to China with the signing of eight broad-ranging agreements on Monday in a bid to diversify ties between the two countries. Abdul-Mahdi was heading a delegation consisting of, among others, Iraqi ministers and provincial governors. On the fifth day of the visit, the Iraqi PM met with the Chinese President Xi Jinping and the Premiere of the State Council Li Keqiang. In the meeting, the two sides signed agreements in a variety of fields, including finance, trade, security, construction, communications, culture, education, and foreign affairs, according to a readout from the Iraqi PM’s office. Signed financial agreements included one between Iraq’s Ministry of Finance and Sinosure - the China Export and Credit Insurance Corporation – another on economic and technical cooperation, and an agreement between the Iraqi Ministry of Finance and the Chinese Trade Ministry concerning “cooperation for reconstruction following the [ISIS] war in Iraq].” The Iraqi delegation’s visit to China aimed to form a “framework relations for strategic partnership for Iraq to rise and rebuild its infrastructure, economy and society.” As part of the visit, the PM toured the car manufacturing company JAC, a solar panel manufacturing company, the Shanghai Electric Company, and other sites. “We belong to Asia, and we want to be part of its rise,” Iraq’s Prime Minister said in Shanghai on Saturday. Trade volume between Iraq and China surpassed $30 billion in 2017. Iraq-China trade relations currently rely on the export of Iraqi oil and Chinese manufactured goods. However, in a bid to diversify their economic ties, one of the agreements signed involve the building of a joint Iraqi-Chinese manufacturing city in Iraq to produce goods meeting “world standards,” according to Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Saleh Abdullah al-Jabouri. The agreement is the sixth of its kind. Jabouri added that his industry ministry presented 200 “projects and investment opportunities” to Chinese companies during the Iraq-Chinese Economic Cooperation Forum. According to a Ministry of Finance and Economy readout, Iraq’s Ministry of Electricity signed an agreement with the Chinese Heavy Equipment Engineering Company, who are already involved in construction projects in Iraq, most notably that of the Saladin Electric Station. In a development of cultural ties between the two countries, a Chinese library is set to be established in Iraq’s Baghdad University, and a cultural cooperation memorandum of understanding was also signed. https://www.rudaw.net/english/middleeast/iraq/23092019
  2. Thanks Yota for sharing the article. I like this part Al-Qasabi said the kingdom would support the development of Iraq by one billion dollars. He explained that the amount will be allocated to support the areas that have been recently liberated from the terrorism and support the reconstruction of infrastructure services projects.

  4. According to Iraq's mineral ministry, country's western desert contains huge reserves of gold and likely platinum and diamond resereves. LONDON(BullionStreet): After decades of sanctions, war and sectarian violence, Iraq is struggling to maintain it's economy and looking forward to increase gold production along with oil and natural gas. According to Iraq's mineral ministry, country's western desert contains huge reserves of gold and likely platinum and diamond resereves. The Iraqi government recently announced a 30 year economic plan for mines and minerals by granting production licenses to foreign mining companies. The Iraqi government is thus hopeful that gold mining can be an increasingly profitable venture for the country. However, official gold trade in the country remained in doldrums as Iraq's banking sector required proper training and guidance from foreign banks, analysts said. Iraq's northern neighbor Turkey offered to support country's banking sector in gold trade. Turkish Banks Association (TBB) said the Turkish banking industry, which developed new ways of bringing in individual gold savings to the economy, will train Iraqi bankers on how to trade with gold. The scope of the training will be determined depending on the demand stated by the Iraqi government. The TBB has started a study in regards to the training, which will take place in Baghdad and Erbil following a recent visit by an Iraqi delegation of the Federation of Private Banks to Turkey. Analysts said Turkey has carried out important studies in trading gold, which is a significant saving tool in Iraq, and we want to benefit from Turkey's experience. TBB has provided training to countries such as Albania, Azerbaijan as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina and has also been working on training programs for Syria and Lebanon.
  5. Nice news!! Thank you for finding it and sharing it with us!
  6. This is a big red flag to me, is that if one wants to use scriptures from the new bibles, other than the King James, one has to get "permission" from them to use it on materials. We do not need men's approval to use God's word on material to share, in my humble opinion. Something to consider......

  10. Zeros “Cannot be Removed from Iraqi Currency During 2013″ Posted on 06 September 2012. Tags: Central Bank, IQD, iraqi dinar, re-denomination, re-valuation, Redenomination, revaluation Zeros “Cannot be Removed from Iraqi Currency During 2013″ By John Lee. Iraq’s deputy Minister of Finance has said the three zeros cannot be removed from Iraqi dinars during 2013 because no preparations have been made. According to the report from AKnews, the Iraqi Central Bank and people have been saying for four years that the zeros in the Iraqi currency will be erased and the money will be changed. But the money cannot be changed because prior work for the process has not been executed. The Minister of State reportedly said: “Reducing the zeros is the Central Bank’s authority. As the Finance Ministry we are against the change and removal of the zeros, but the bank insists on removing the zeros. “We cannot change the Iraqi money in 2013 because the Iraqi budget was estimated with current money. “If the Central Bank has any intention to change the money then it must do the process soon before calculating 2014′s budget.” (Source: AKnews) http://www.iraq-businessnews.com/2012/09/06/zeros-cannot-be-removed-from-iraqi-currency-during-2013/
  11. Hi, yes i did send it. Desperate, no. Been in it for 3 years. Please share what you can do to help. Working proactive and asking questions is good. Many business deals and relationships are done this way. People would not be married if they did not ask. I could ask my friend who is a Consular of Thailand to write. Perhaps, coming from someone with government ties would be more apt to respond. I hope it comes quick, of course. A major reason being is1 child in 4 seconds dies just because of bad water or lack thereof. I hope many will help the poor with their money. The desire of a man to be kind, and charitable, and generous, is his kindness, and shall be so construed; both God and man will accept his good-will, according to what he has, and will not expect more. A poor man, who wishes you well, but can promise you nothing, because he has nothing to be kind with, is better than a liar, than a rich man who makes you believe he will do mighty things, but, when it comes to the setting to, will do nothing.

  13. I wanted to share this. Sometime we don't have answers because we just don't ask. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. TO: cbi@cbi.iq Message flagged Saturday, August 25, 2012 10:18 AM Hello and good evening, I was wanting to know please when does the CBI plan on revaluing the Iraq Dinar? Will it be by the end of the year 2012?Will the rate be as strong as the Kuwait Dinar and stronger than the US dollar? I know the oil and gold and other resources will be able to back a strong currency for your country. Thank you kindly for taking the time in answering these two questions. Look positively forward to hearing back from you soon. Kind regards, JP
  14. http://www.iraq-businessnews.com/tag/gulf-keystone/ A Good Month for Iraqi Oil Shares Posted on 09 August 2012. Tags: Afren, DNO, Genel Energy, GKP, Gulf Keystone, Heritage, WesternZagros A Good Month for Iraqi Oil Shares By John Lee. Like good comedy, the secret of good investment is often said to be timing. Someone buying shares at the end of June in Heritage Oil, which has interests in Iraqi Kurdistan, may have had reason to be concerned if they planned to sell shortly afterwards, as the shares were suspended in early July pending the publication of a prospectus. However, their patience was amply rewarded when trading resumed on Tuesday and the shares gained 21% on the day. Those who held on were up another 19%, compounded, on Wednesday, giving them a total gain of 44%. But while Iraq-focused oil shares have had a bumpy ride over the years, the past five weeks have been particularly fruitful. Just look at these returns from a selection of the players: Genel Energy, up 11.3% DNO, up 22.7% Afren, up 22.9% Gulf Keystone, up 36.7% Heritage Oil, up 43.9% WesternZagros, up 48.4% And despite these significant gains, all of these except WesternZagros are still well below their peaks. Momentum traders may have on opinion on whether the upward trend will continue; fundamental investors will ignore these factors and consider such metrics as asset valuations and cash flows. However the shares will ultimately be valued, Iraq is floating on a lake of oil, and the whole country should reap the benefits of its development.

  17. Look...100 to 150 times your investment is still a very good return. Be happy & take it at .10 cent to .15 cent IQD to the USD. I'd like 1 to 1 better but will be elated at that rate. Luigi, exactly!!!! at this time, and am confident everyone else would agree .15 would be FANTASTIC at this point!!!!! Lot of people would be helped for sure! Chapter 19 Proverbs verse 17~ He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. Here is, I. The duty of charity described. It includes two things:-- 1. Compassion, which is the inward principle of charity in the heart; it is to have pity on the poor. Those that have not a penny for the poor, yet may have pity for them, a charitable concern and sympathy; and, if a man give all his goods to feed the poor and have not this charity in his heart, it is nothing, 1 Cor. xiii. 3. We must draw out our souls to the hungry, Isa. lviii. 10. 2. Bounty and liberality. We must not only pity the poor, but give, according to their necessity and our ability, Jam. ii. 15, 16. That which he has given. Margin, His deed. It is charity to do for the poor, as well as to give; and thus, if they have their limbs and senses, they may be charitable to one another. II. The encouragement of charity. 1. A very kind construction shall be put upon it. What is given to the poor, or done for them, God will place it to account as lent to him, lent upon interest (so the word signifies); he takes it kindly, as if it were done to himself, and he would have us take the comfort of it and to be as well pleased as ever any usurer was when he had let out a sum of money into good hands. 2. A very rich recompence shall be made for it: He will pay him again, in temporal, spiritual, and eternal blessings. Almsgiving is the surest and safest way of thriving. ~ Matthew Henry
