J3L
A friend bought some dinar via eBay from a seller in Amman Jordan. Do they need to declare this with customs? What about the IRS? 1
kadianne
Per previous posts,I believe the dealers are registered with the UST and if they are mailed internationally, the sender tells the mailing service and it is declared with customs. Every eBay purchase I have made, that is from an international seller has a customs stamp on the package when it arrives. I don't think we claim to IRA until it RVs, but I would consult a CPA/Tax Attorney to be 100% sure. Hope that helps....

What about the IRS? My last purchase from Jordan arrived via Fed Ex. The envelope was opened and there was a note in the envelope from Customs. All bills were in there, so problem. If all bills were still in there, then what was the problem?
J3L
Looks to me like a typo. I thought it said "no" problem by the way it sounded.
capt.cliff
I think the real question here is was it recorded and sent on to the proper agency or was it just inspected and since there wasn't a letter bomb in there it was sent thru and unreported! okane
What did the note from customs say? If all bills were still in there, then what was the problem? It was from "Jim Bob", he was asking for a loan. They usually say, "This package was inspected by U.S. Customs" I think the real question here is was it recorded and sent on to the proper agency or was it just inspected and unreported! That is a good question capt.cliff. One good reason to have all our i's dotted and t's crossed. Happy New Year!
HopefulTxn
A friend bought some dinar via eBay from a seller in Amman Jordan. Do they need to declare this with customs? What about the IRS? According to US Customs, if there is any duty fee assigned to the package you will be notified by the package arriving with a form attached stating the amount owed. Link FinCen does require that a form be filled out IF the money transferred has a value of $10,000 USD or more. Link
