LettheRVbegin
Well we all know that this isn't gonna happen since the "FED" probably won't allow it to happen.

vern
You can print your own currency if you have a Canon Copier. It can be barter notes. Yes there is a copier that can do this but you also sighn your name on a contract that states you willnot copy money. YA RIGHT-----there are guys in jail for trying and some of these cats were good. just get a credit card and put whatever you want on it and a stroke for your name and do it with your left hand .When they try to get it all back and they ask for a written name use yer right and sign your real name. Peol really win this way. DONT TRY IT-PLEASE--- --they will have you packing squirrel meat in a nut factory----Vern
20MillionDinar
There are actually quite a few places around the MidWest (USA) that are using their own currencies and not relying solely on the U.S. dollar. The U.S. Coinage act makes it clear that this is not illegal to do. Do your research on this issue if interested. The largest "alternative" currency circulating in the U.S. (besides the U.S. dollar) are called "BerkShares" and are considered a local currency in the Berkshire region of Massachusetts. Over 2.8 Million BerkShares are in circulation as of now. Places in Manhattan are accepting the Euro. Some places in Texas are accepting Pesos. And quite a few places around the U.S. are not accepting U.S. dollar period!
smee2
We have a hardware and automotive supply chain here in Canada, called Canadian Tire, who have had their own Canadian Tire Money (CT money for short) for about sixty years. People save it and cash it in when they have enough for some item they want and don't otherwise wish to spend government cash. Works well. HOWEVER WHAT I REALLY WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT IS THIS ... Several years ago, here in Canada, in a small town, the chamber of commerce, and businessman's association, and the city council, decided that they would have a promotion that would, hopefully, bring people into and back to the area. They printed up paper money of their own design, for just that town, and had some coins made up too. It was almost like monopoly money and chocolate coins in the gold foil. Anyhow, for the entire summer whoever shopped in one of the stores, stayed at one of the motels, bought gas at one of the gas stations ... they got back, with their change, a certain predetermined amount of the hometown currency. They had the choice of using it in their NEXT purchase, as part of their purchase price. Sort of a future discount in the form of money rather than a coupon. The money was usable in all the local businesses, for any merchandise, not just service oriented but also retail merchandising. The idea was to get repeat business, from locals to keep them from shopping in the larger centres an hour or so away, and from tourists who like to stop over in smaller places on their way through to somewhere else. It worked! There was no time limit or excluded times so the notes and bills came back all through the year. Being in a snowbelt they got ski and snowmobile tourists through the winter with this money. Some had gotten it themselves the summer before and some had gotten it from friends who had passed through. The local gas station had someone show up with local money from out of town about twice a week for months. The following summer the town decided to do it again. And they did. And it was a great success. Sadly it is no longer happening because when the mayor stepped down and a new one was elected it was decided this was not the best route to take to get and keep the visitors to their little town. They came up with a scheme that didn't cost the acquisition of the money and did not work. (The new idea also made good use of and a lot of business for the new mayor ... hmmmmm) Over all the cost of implementing their hometown money idea was more than covered by the return of bills which meant more business, and the bills got reused in a lot of cases. Some of the bills were kept in the local museum, bills that had been signed by someone with a date and a place they came from to visit this town. There must have been about a dozen bills that were literally covered with those names and locations. Ah, those were the days. Anyway, just wanted to tell you a story of making your own money and making it work. smee2
vern
HEY SMEE2---Some economist in Canada have said that the Canadian Tire money has better value than the Canadian Dollar. It has held its value more than what we are used to. It was said that dollar for dollar the Candian Tore money out perfoms the LOONIE. something else you should know - is that the compant that prints the Canadian Dollar prints the Canadian Tire money here in Canada. What gets me is that our Silver is not minted here. It is done in Wisconsin and stamped. We sell to them and the pay for out stamp ansd then we buy it back. Yup a bunch of smrt ones we got. They all belong in the puzzle factory- Vern
