chuckray Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 one of the best rumors ever was yesterday : jordanian islamic bank showing rv rate of 3.22 usd= 1iqd---and it was on their website !!! The Jordanian Islamic Bank currency converter is using an unlicensed version of aquariussoft.com’s currency converter. If you go to http://aquariussoft.com/currency-converter/default.asp you’ll see the real IQD rates. On JIB’s site, they are getting a ‘rate set’ in javascript that has a date of 2004 on it which you can see here: var rate = new Object();var lastdate=”UNREGISTERED. January 2 2004 05:06:37 GMT. UNREGISTERED”;rate['IQD']=0.309997; Please don’t believe any rumors about that site having an RV’d IQD rate 1 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

emerald41 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Share Posted January 12, 2011 Hi all, I just have a question about this. If the currency convertor is outdated, I get that but why is it that rate. I pulled up the UN operational rates of exchange for 2004 and it was 1650 in Jan 2004. I just think that is strange. Probably nothing but I thought I would ask anyone else. Is it maybe cause the UN didn't acknowlege Iraq at that time? Emerald Heres the link for the UN pagehttp://www.un.org/Depts/treasury/2004.xls Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

aliveandcare Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Not trying to argue with you.... But I looked it up with JSView in firefox, and this is what it says about the currency converter: function calculate(bReverse) { var select1 = document.curconvert.covertfrom; var select2 = document.curconvert.covertto; var select1_text = select1[select1.selectedIndex].text; var select2_text = select2[select2.selectedIndex].text; var fromval; var toval; //these error messages are hidden values in the templates //they get translated into foreign languages var errmsg1 = "An error has occurred with this selection. Please select two currencies and try again."; var errmsg2 = "Please enter a valid amount."; if (fromval == null && toval == null) { fromval = rate[select1[select1.selectedIndex].value]; toval = rate[select2[select2.selectedIndex].value]; } if (fromval == null || toval == null) { document.curconvert.amount2.value="0.00"; return true; } if (fromval == "" || toval == "" || isNaN(fromval) || isNaN(toval)) { alert(errmsg1); return false; } if (bReverse) var amount = removecommas(document.curconvert.amount2.value); else var amount = removecommas(document.curconvert.amount.value); if (isNaN(amount)){ alert(errmsg2); document.curconvert.amount.focus(); return false; } var pattern = /,/g; amount = amount.replace(pattern, ""); showConversion(fromval, toval, amount, bReverse); setCookie("szCurrTo", select2[select2.selectedIndex].value); setCookie("szCurrToTxt", select2[select2.selectedIndex].text); } function lastupdate() { if ((navigator.appName.indexOf("Netscape") != -1)&& (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) == 4)) { paintNSCP(); } else if ((navigator.appName.indexOf("Microsoft") != -1) || (parseInt(navigator.appVersion) >= 5)){ paintDOM(); } calculate(); } function paintNSCP() { document.layers['lastupdate'].document.write('<NOBR><SPAN CLASS="lastupdate">'+lastupdate ); document.layers['lastupdate'].document.close(); } function paintDOM() { var value = lastdate; if (document.createTextNode){ if(document.getElementById("lastupdate_ie").hasChildNodes()){ oText = document.getElementById("lastupdate_ie").firstChild; if (oText.nodeType == 3) oText.nodeValue = value; else return false; } else{ var results=document.createTextNode(value); document.getElementById("lastupdate_ie").appendChild(results); } } } function showConversion(fromval, toval, amount, bReverse) { var totval; if (bReverse) { totval = amount * fromval/toval; document.curconvert.amount.value=toCurrency(totval); } else { totval = amount * toval / fromval; document.curconvert.amount2.value=toCurrency(totval); } } function round(num) { var x = num * 10000; return (Math.round(x) / 10000); } function removecommas(amount) { var length=amount.length; var s=amount.toString(); var returnval = ""; for (var i=0;i<=length;i++) { if (amount.substr(i, 1)!=',') returnval=returnval+amount.substr(i, 1); } return returnval; } function toCurrency(num) { num = round(num); var currstring = num.toString(); if (currstring.match(/\./)) { var curr = currstring.split('.'); } else { var curr = [currstring, "00"]; } curr[1] += "00"; curr[2] = ""; var returnval = ""; var length = curr[0].length; // add 0 to decimal if necessary for (var i = 0; i < 2; i++) curr[2] += curr[1].substr(i, 1); // insert commas for readability for (i = length; (i - 3) > 0; i = i - 3) { returnval = "," + curr[0].substr(i - 3, 3) + returnval; } returnval = curr[0].substr(0, i) + returnval + "." + curr[1].substr(0, 4); return (returnval); } function setCookie(name, value) { var curCookie = name + "=" + escape(value) +"; expires=Fri, 29 Jan 2010 00:00:00 UTC"; document.cookie = curCookie; } 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

aliveandcare Posted January 13, 2011 Report Share Posted January 13, 2011 Could someone please explain this in English? Yeah. Look at the above rates.... None of them are correct at all. Is you convert 1 dinar to the yen, it should be 15. Not 350 like the site says... It is just wrong. all of the currencies are converting back to 2004.
