Shafaq News / The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, said on Saturday that the attacks launched by the armed factions targeting diplomatic missions, international coalition bases, and the headquarters of the Peshmerga forces have harmed all Iraqi markets.

This came in a speech he delivered during the official memorial ceremony on the occasion of “Iraqi Martyr’s Day,” the anniversary of the assassination of Ayatollah Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim, whose ceremony took place in the capital, Baghdad.

President Nechirvan Barzani said in the speech that the attack on diplomatic missions, coalition forces, and the Peshmerga undermines the work of the government, places obstacles in its path and programs, and results in many multi-faceted complications in Iraq.

He added, "These attacks caused a lot of damage to the security and lives of the citizens of the Kurdistan Region, and caused widespread anxiety and unrest in all Iraqi markets and gave ISIS terrorists the opportunity to intensify their attacks."

The head of the region continued by saying: The coalition forces came at the invitation of the Iraqi government for the purpose of confronting ISIS, and the federal government and Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani should be given the opportunity to dialogue with them according to a joint plan and on a safe, problem-free basis with the aim of agreeing on the future of cooperation between the coalition forces.
