Announcing the auction of remittances to the Central Bank of Iraq

We would like to inform you that the auction for traditional money transfers to the Central Bank of Iraq has been announced for a period of (14) days with the number ( B303 ), and implementation will be on 8/23/2023, according to the details included in the announcement published on the Central Securities Deposit System ( CSD ), and banks can start By submission starting from the date of the announcement until the day of implementation.

Today, Wednesday (August 16, 2023), the Central Bank of Iraq announced the start of opening channels of financial cooperation with India.

A statement by the Central Bank, received by "Baghdad Today", said that "Governor Ali Mohsen Al-Alaq, received the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Iraq, Prashant Besay, and during the meeting, they discussed strengthening economic and banking relations between Baghdad and Delhi and the desire of the two parties to open bank accounts in accredited Indian banks to facilitate external transfer operations to cover Iraq's imports, which amount to about (4) billion dollars, in order to facilitate and speed up transfers to Iraqi importers, as well as discussing India's experience in electronic payment and expanding financial inclusion to levels advanced".

He added, "The Indian ambassador expressed the readiness of the relevant institutions in this field to provide support and training to the cadres of the Central Bank of Iraq."

For his part, Al-Alaq praised "India's experience in its distinguished development journey in all sectors and its advanced economic position."
