Today, Thursday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani spoke directly with the citizens, through the Al-Watan wa Al-Nas program, which is shown on Al-Iraqiya News.

 

The Prime Minister made direct contact with the presenter of the program, Mustafa Al-Rubaie, during the live broadcast of the episode, to listen to the problems of citizens.

 

The Prime Minister asked the presenter of the Al-Watan wa Al-Nas program to register the phone numbers of citizens to communicate with him personally to solve their problems.

 

During the call, he announced the imminent approval of the current year's budget.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani affirmed that Iraq is the key to the solution in the region, while pointing out that part of corruption finances terrorism.

 

Al-Sudani said in a symposium on the sidelines of his participation in the Munich conference, "Iraq is the key to the solution in the region," noting that "our government has 5 priorities."

 

The Prime Minister added, "We are working on structural reforms of the economy," noting that "the previous governments did not invest in gas."

 

He pointed out that "the government places desertification problems as a priority in its solutions," adding that "our forces have the ability to achieve security and stability in Iraq."

"We started reforming the security sector," added Al-Sudani, adding, "Our position is clear that there is no need for combat forces. We only need advisory missions."

He stressed that "the presence of al-Hol camp is a worrying factor for Iraq," noting that "the Iraqi people adhere to the democratic system."

And the Prime Minister went on, "We are constantly working on the principle of citizenship and have come a long way in overcoming the problems between Baghdad and Erbil."

He explained that "ISIS ended militarily in Iraq," adding, "We need the international community's help in recovering wanted terrorists and preventing their financing."

 

And he added, "My government has adopted opening a dialogue with the international coalition to determine its needs and aspects of tasks in the next stage, and to determine the number of advisers," noting that "Washington is a strategic partner for Iraq."

And between: "We have historical relations with Iran," stressing that "corruption in Iraq threatens development and reconstruction plans."

 

And the Prime Minister added, "We started reforming the institutions involved in pursuing corruption," adding, "We started with the method of recovering money and tracking down wanted persons, and this is happening for the first time since 2003."

And he continued, "Part of corruption finances terrorism," indicating that: closing the file of the displaced is a priority for the government.

 

Al-Sudani went on to say, "Iraq is open to all countries in its economic partnerships," adding, "We have historical relations with Kuwait and there is an effort to attract Gulf investments."

 

The Prime Minister stressed that "Iraq has investment opportunities in various sectors," pointing out that "my government is keen to review the investment environment in Iraq."

 Baghdad / Iraq News Network - Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani affirmed, on Sunday, the government's insistence on adopting the correct standards for financial transfers, stressing that the Iraqi citizen will seek the importance of the economic reforms adopted by the government, while he explained the most prominent course of his meetings with political and security officials around the world on the sidelines of the Munich Conference. for security and politics.

 

The Prime Minister said in a televised statement: “The Munich Conference on Security and Politics is one of the important conferences in the world and the volume of attendance in it from different countries of the world and the security aspect took a large part in the concerns, conversations and bilateral meetings at the level of groups in addition to the opening session.”

 

He added, “Iraq clarifies Through the conference, firstly, its reading of the security situation in the region and the affirmation that Iraq’s security is a guarantee for the security and stability of the region and, as a consequence, the whole world.

 

He continued, "We emphasized that today, ISIS does not have a presence through which it controls an area on the ground or maintains a place, but rather it is defeated and terrified gangs pursued by our security services.

 

We demonstrated the importance of cooperation and exchange of information between our security services and their counterparts in the region and the world. We also stressed the importance of having an international response in this regard."

 

Supporting Iraq in retrieving wanted persons and those accused of terrorism cases, and the important aspect is also stopping the financing of terrorist gangs, which has been indicated to us through our intelligence information about the existence of this funding from many countries, which contributes to the increase in the activity of these gangs.

 


The Prime Minister affirmed that “the foregoing is a message that we clarified during our conduct of 26 meetings within 48 hours, during which we received at our residence in Munich senior officials of the security services and politicians at the level of prime ministers and ministers of several countries around the world, as well as officials of international organizations.”

 

And about the outcome of these meetings. Al-Sudani explained, “The officials he met showed understanding, real support, and agreement with the Iraqi vision in the security and political reading of the region. This is an important factor and one of the goals of our participation in the Munich conference through these meetings, in addition to bilateral meetings for members of the Iraqi delegation. In general, the message of Iraq and the government’s vision reached these important parties.”

 

This is something and an essential factor in the security and political understandings.” Regarding the government’s priorities in its ministerial program, Al-Sudani explained that “the government took into account all the circumstances that Iraq has gone through since 2019 and the accompanying processes and practices that expressed popular rejection of many forms of living, service and economic performance. We were part of that stage in different locations and we took it by formulating it.”

 

According to priorities in the government program that were not set arbitrarily, but rather came according to an accurate diagnosis of the hopes of the Iraqi people to combat poverty, create job opportunities, eliminate unemployment, improve services, implement projects, whether lagging or direct new projects, and combat financial and administrative corruption that threatens all development plans and reform the economy.

 

He pointed out that “these important vocabulary represent the talk of the street, and it affects in one way or another the entire aspects of life in the country, and it has become an entitlement because staying in front of these challenges and leaving these priorities without attention will definitely affect the overall living, service and economic matters, and we also found that our priorities reached the ears of everyone.”

 

The international bodies understand and work with us in the light of priorities.” And the Prime Minister continued, “When we talk with the international officials whom we met about combating corruption, we put before them the entitlement of the obligation to help Iraq in handing over the wanted persons and recovering the money, and when we also talk about the file of economic reforms, we assure them that we need the help of institutions.”

 

International finance to provide us with proposals that enable us to support this reform. And the Prime Minister continued, “When we talk with international officials whom we met about combating corruption, we place before them the entitlement of commitment to help Iraq in handing over wanted persons and recovering funds, and when we also talk about the file of economic reforms, we assure them that we need the help of international financial institutions to provide us with proposals that enable us to support this reform.” .

 

And the Prime Minister continued, “When we talk with international officials whom we met about combating corruption, we place before them the entitlement of commitment to help Iraq in handing over wanted persons and recovering funds, and when we also talk about the file of economic reforms, we assure them that we need the help of international financial institutions to provide us with proposals that enable us to support this reform.” .

 


Regarding his meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the Prime Minister explained, “We found clear understanding and support for our economic reforms. During the meeting, we demonstrated our determination to reform the financial and banking system, and we asked for flexibility to support the implementation of reforms that were supposed to be implemented in the past two years by the previous government. And money laundering and smuggling.”

 

And he stressed that “the government insists on adopting the correct standards for financial transfers and clean trade, and the citizen will feel the importance of these reforms in the short term, and international institutions will make sure that Iraq adopts the correct standards in its financial and banking system.”

 

Regarding the climate change file and its challenges, Al-Sudani indicated that he “It affected Iraq through water scarcity and increased desertification, and the associated gas combustion problem also had clear effects that caused it, and the problems of climate change are a serious threat to the environmental situation in Iraq.”

 

 

He stressed, "Addressing the effects of climate change has been placed at the top of our priorities during our discussion with various international officials, whom we met on the sidelines of the Munich conference, and they expressed their willingness to support Iraq with modern practices and technologies to address these effects."
