DWS112 Posted December 14, 2022 Report Share Posted December 14, 2022 The Central Bank and the World Bank are discussing strengthening institutional governance frameworks for the banking sector Dec 14, 2022 Today, Wednesday, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, Mustafa Ghaleb Makhaif, discussed with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank the strengthening of institutional governance frameworks for the banking sector. The Central Bank said, in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "Makhaif received today a delegation from the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank headed by the Regional Director for the Middle East, Khawaja Aftab Ahmed; they discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation and strengthening it, and the projects completed between the Central Bank of Iraq and the institution were reviewed, Including a project to strengthen institutional governance frameworks for the Iraqi banking sector, prepare the regulatory framework for financial leasing activity, as well as the accession of the Central Bank of Iraq to the international sustainability network.
