{Political: Al Furat News} Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi received today, Monday, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.

A brief statement by Al-Halbousi's office said that the two sides discussed "the latest developments in the political situation in the country."

The meeting comes after speculations that a parliamentary session will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, with the announcement of the final agreement on the formation of the State Administration Alliance between the Coordination Framework, the two Kurdish parties, the Alliance of Azm, the Alliance of Sovereignty and Babylon, and the signing of the political agreement paper, "according to a member of the Political Bureau of the National Wisdom Movement, Fadi Al-Shammari.

Al-Shammari added in a tweet late last night, "Hoping to complete the consultations for naming the candidate for the presidency of the republic and setting a date for the resumption of the work of the Iraqi parliament for its constitutional duties."

{Local: Al Furat News} The head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis Al-Khanjar, discussed today, Tuesday, the developments of the political situation in Iraq, with the UN envoy, Jenin Plasschaert.

A statement issued by the Al-Khanjar office stated to {Euphrates News} that "the head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis Al-Khanjar, met with the United Nations envoy to Iraq, Jenin Plasschaert, and discussed the latest developments in the political scene in the Iraqi arena."

 The statement added that the two sides stressed "the importance of getting out of the political blockage through a consensus of visions between the blocs participating in the political process, and the need to spare the country the scourge of escalation and the logic of defeat."
