The first deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, Hakim al-Zamili, said that the stability of his country is one of the factors affecting the security of the entire Middle East region, stressing the need to fight terrorism to achieve global peace and security.

This came during his meeting with a Danish delegation from the Parliamentary Committee of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization "NATO" headed by Representative Mads Vogelidi, according to the Iraqi (Alsumaria News) channel today, Tuesday.

Al-Zamili added that the threat to global peace and security by the forces of extremism and terrorism has resulted in a common goal among all countries of the world, which is to fight this terrorism, and to coordinate in the field of armament, training and intelligence information to achieve this desired goal.

He explained that Iraq's security, economic and political stability is an essential and influencing factor in the stability of the Middle East as a whole, calling for the continuation of cooperation frameworks between Iraq and NATO in the fields of security, training and combating terrorism.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed a number of issues of common interest, encouraging investment companies to enter Iraq and contributing to the transfer of expertise, increasing economic cooperation and plans to revive industry and agriculture, as well as discussing how to support the needs of the Iraqi community in Denmark.

And the media office of Al-Zamili said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, "Al-Zamili received in his office today, a Danish delegation from the Parliamentary Committee of NATO, headed by Representative Mads Vogelidi."

Shafaq News/ The Council of National Security Agents in Iraq agreed today, Tuesday, to conclude a military memorandum of understanding with NATO.

Earlier today, the Council held its eighth session for 2022, headed by the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, and in the presence of the members of the Council.

A statement issued by Al-Araji's office said that the council discussed the topics on its agenda and took the necessary decisions and recommendations regarding them.

Where the Council agreed to conclude (the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Iraq and the NATO Group), according to the statement.

The statement added that with regard to the issue of (the security-intelligence center in the Iraqi Reform Department), the Council directed the formation of a joint committee, to review, review and mature this file, and clarify what is related to defining the tasks and powers of each party, coordination mechanisms among them and preventing potential intersections.
