Shafaq News/ The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, and British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson Richardson stressed on Sunday the importance of forming an Iraqi government that works to solve the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government on the basis of the constitution.

This came during Barzani's reception of the British ambassador in a meeting attended by the British Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, David Hunt, according to a statement received by Shafaq News Agency.

During the meeting, they "discussed the latest developments in Iraq after the election of the Presidency of the Council of Representatives and the efforts made to form a new Iraqi government."

The two sides stressed "the importance of forming a government that serves all Iraqi citizens and components, and works to solve the outstanding problems between the Kurdistan Region and the federal government on the basis of the constitution."

In another aspect of the meeting, the issue of migrants was "addressed with reference to the need for coordination between the relevant institutions of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the British government, especially in combating organized crime and putting an end to illegal immigration."

The two sides also dealt with the reforms undertaken by the regional government, in addition to ways to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the field of investment.
