Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, discussed, on Wednesday, with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mike Bryson Richardson, the latest developments in the political situation, while the latter expressed his country's support for dialogue between the two Kurdish parties to solve outstanding problems. 

 

 The region's presidency said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, received today the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mike Bryson Richardson, indicating that the two sides stressed during the meeting the importance of consolidating bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and Britain. 

 

 

 

They also discussed, according to the statement, the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq, Erbil's relations with Baghdad, and developments in the region in general. 

Regarding the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, the statement says that the British ambassador welcomed the meeting of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, expressing his country's support for dialogue between the two sides and solving problems through dialogue. 

On the other hand, they discussed the issue of the oil and gas law, the Iraqi budget, the decisions of the Iraqi Federal Court and their negative effects on the political situation, and the British ambassador stressed on these issues that his country encourages Erbil and Baghdad to solve their problems through dialogue.

Bagdad (NINA) - Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Masrour Barzani stressed the importance of speeding up the adoption of the draft federal budget law. During his meeting with British Ambassador to Iraq Mark Bryson Richardson, Barzani stressed the importance of concerted efforts between the Kurdish parties in defending the constitutional rights of the Kurdistan region.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to hold the elections at an appropriate date this year and to complete the legal procedures for the electoral process as soon as possible, indicating that the Kurdistan Regional Government is ready to provide all the requirements required by the electoral process.
For his part, the British ambassador pointed out the importance of overcoming all problems and obstacles to the electoral process this year.
The British reiterated his country's support for Kurdistan's security and stability, according to the statement.

In another part of the meeting, the two sides discussed the need to resolve the problems between the region and the federal government on the basis of the constitution.
The meeting, which was attended by the British Consul General to Kurdistan Rosie Kaif, dealt with ways to strengthen relations between Britain and Kurdistan, especially in the field of economy, export of the region's agricultural crops to international markets and the development of the energy sector ./End7
