CAIRO - The 39th meeting of the Directors General of Customs in the Arab States, chaired by the Director-General of Kuwait's General Administration of Customs, Counselor Gamal Hassel Al-Jalawi, started on Wednesday at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League.

The meetings were attended by Directors General of Customs in the Arab countries and Ambassador Kamal Hassan Ali, Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs, League of Arab States, according to the Middle East News Agency.

Al-Jalawi said that the meetings come to achieve several objectives, including facilitating trade and achieving exchange and economic integration, in order to establish the unified Arab Customs Union.

He stressed the importance of the role of general customs managers in facilitating the movement of trade and standardizing customs work through overcoming the difficulties, formulating a consensual formula and accelerating the completion of projects, initiatives and agreements related to customs cooperation and putting them into practice and achieving the desired results.
