Markinsa
"While the cause of the accident has yet to be determined, Japan’s public broadcaster NHK said the ACX Crystal had made a sharp turn shortly before the collision." Captain's Quarters are normally close the the Bridge. I don't know about this Destroyer, but on a Frigate, that would be the CO's Clock on the wall... Anyone else see the clock??? Maybe its not a clock...
ranger173
Can't see the clock umbertino. But being on navy ships a couple times captain quarters are not to far from bridge relative to the size of the ship. Don't see as well as long used to. But what a shame in this day and age something avoidable with tech, can happen to our boys.

A few years after I transferred to another ship, the CO of the Lockwood came up to the Bridge and ordered a course change with objections from the Bridge Crew and was hit by a freighter in just about the same spot. The news reports, said they had to close off some of the affected spaces to stop the flooding, so hopefully none of the missing sailors were left in those compartments.
nstoolman1
Unfortunately, no matter who was at the helm or in charge of the Bridge at the time, the Captain is ultimately responsible. Bad day for the Navy. Hope they find the men.
