INTERVIEW-Iraq To Issue Intl Bonds In August !

Does anyone think the Bond issue is a good thing and reflects positively on Iraq?

If yes..why?

If they were to use the money to build infrastructure and expand their economy yes.  If they use it to pay old debts or entitlements no. Borrowing to pay back old debt is common place at the UST and the Fed.

Their house of cards will fall eventually also.

That would be my argument as well..It would be great if they didn't have to issue bonds at all but they're broke and forced to beg/borrow all over the world.

Bonds for,as you said,infrastructure would be great  Piling on debt because they're crooks..not so good.
