Yankees27
Thanx for the memories, Umbertino! Saw these guys thrice (Memphis-opened for Clapton, Nashville-opened for ZZ Top, and then, later, in Little Rock). Unfortunately, I also remember the night in Oct., 1977 of the infamous plane crash. What was cool about the Clapton concert in front of 40,000 @ the Memphis Liberty Bowl was that Van Zandt told the crowd, "Years go we used to pick up Coke bottles on the side of the road so that we could get money to buy Eric Clapton's records, and NOW we're the opening act for him."

waterman13
My brother and I drove over 2,000 miles this week (Sunday - Wednesday). Our older sister died of a massice heart attack and the only way we could get there was to drive 1,000 miles in 15 hours, changed into our suits in a truck stop rest room to attend the showing. Went to the funeral and cemetary the next day. That same evening we set out to get home, another 15 hours. Wow! what a last couple of days! My sister was only 61, went into bed to read a book and died. She went quickly and now is resting until Christ returns. It was amazing how many people that she touched their lives, and seeing people I haven't seen in 20 to 30 years. Wow how life on this earth goes so fast.
