All attempts to isolate Iraq from international community to be foiled

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, stated that all the attempts that aim at isolating Iraq from the international community will be foiled.

In his speech during the opening of the laborers union and Arabs agricultural cooperatives held in Baghdad, he said “Iraq, which used to export agricultural productions has turned to the first importer of all kinds of crops, assuring that “The government made ??good steps in the development of the agricultural sector and support workers in this field and was able to get closer to achieve self-sufficiency through the successful cultivation of some major crops in the country.”

He pointed out that “Agriculture has grown in Iraq and we were able to gain our agricultures abilities , but he also said that ” the road is still a long ahead to restore full capabilities of Iraq and increase the product by supporting modern agricultural methods for farmers,” noting that “He added that in the past year , we were closer to self-sufficiency in grain and in vegetables as well, and this makes us provide more support for farmers , noting that the Ministry of Agriculture has headed the development of this sector.”

“some Arab countries ask for this agricultural initiative and how to achieve them and how it has started,” stressing that ” this initiative was a simple idea, but have had a significant impact in the increase of production in the agricultural wealth,” he added, acknowledging that “Iraq relies entirely on oil wealth, saying, ” We do not want to remain a country that depends on oil and we want for the farmer to have parallel impact as the oil wealth.”

“Iraq is one of the leading importers of agricultural crops in grains, fruits and vegetables fields as a result of the inability of domestic production to cover the local market. The agriculture sector has been hit hard in recent decades as a result of war and siege, as the government has a launched plan called” agricultural initiative” to reach self-sufficiency in agricultural products in 2018,” he concluded.
