Baghdad (NINA) – Minister of Transport, Hadi al-Amiri, said that Iraq is committed not to allow Iranian planes transport military equipments to support the Syrian Government.

In a television interview, Amiri said, "Such accusations by some countries, including America, against Iraq are untrue." He affirmed that Iraq does not take orders from America or any other country because it is a sovereign state.

He added that he himself will search Iranian planes, lands in Iraqi airports, on their way to Syria, pointing out that his action is not in response to the US Secretary of State, John Kerry.

Amiri affirmed that the Government has no intention to revoke its decision of postponing elections in Ninive and Anbar provinces. Pointing out that postponement is because of lack of security in both provinces. / End.

The US and the rest of the world can decide what they think the Iraq government should do; Iraq has to walk a fine line with so many Iran supporters inside their borders.

That is like Japan telling the US to bomb Mexicio or Canada. Every country has to decide how they will deal the people next door. The UN is overseeing what Iraq does with Kuwait but they have no say in relations with Iran.

Iraq will say that they will not allow something but what they actually do is up to them. Military supplies transported by aircraft are not the problem. Very few supplies can be transported that way. It's the shipping that does the damage. Doesn't the US have battle groups in that area? Might as well blame the US for supplies reaching Syria.
