Shelley Posted January 23, 2012 Report Share Posted January 23, 2012 Ani: Iraqiya is about to make important decisions to preserve its dignity, public interest 23/01/2012 22:08:00 Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqiya slate’s official, Dhafir al-Ani announced, “Iraqiya is getting to make important decision to preserve its dignity and the dignity of its public, as well as the public interest.” In a statement to NINA on Monday, Jan. 23, Ani said, “In its meeting todayh, Iraqiya has decided to evaluate its partners in the political process, its Thursday’s meeting will be decisive.” He added, “Today’s meeting attended by Iyad Allawi, Usama al-Nijaifi, Jamal al-Karbouli, Maysoun al-Damalouji, Rafi’ al-Essawi, Salman al-Jumaili, Husseing al-Shalan, Dhafir al-Ani, Adnan al-Janabi, Abdul Kareem al-Samara’e and Mohammed Temeem, has discussed available choices.” He added, “Iraqiya will evaluate the partners’ stances, if they are positive, then Iraqiya will resume its activities in Parliament and cabinet, and if it finds that no such positive stances, then it will have to make hard decisions to safeguard its dignity and the dignity of its supporters as well as the public interest.” Ani went on saying that, “There is a tendency within Iraqiya to withdraw from the political process and work as opposition in Parliament, as well as other choices.” Earlier in the evening, Iraqiya official, Mohammed al-Khalidi has told NINA that Iraqiya will decide on Thursday whether to become a political opposition. / End. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
