  1. Really??? And you are an ADVANCED MEMBER....your reply to this "newbies" post is absolutely pomp-a$$, obnoxiously arrogant and down right RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "...I mean in the nicest way possible..." why even include that in your statement...you obviously made absolutely NO ATTEMPT what-so-ever to be NICE in any shape form or fashion in your reply AND IF YOU DID make an attempt; you failed miserably!!!!!! Get off your high horse "ADVANCED MEMBER" soap box you freaking JERK - there is no reason or justification for you or ANYONE to treat this person or as you classified him/her "newbie" by replying in the manner in which you did!!! Who appointed you "good effort/due diligence monitor??? I hope your reply in this instance is the direct result of a really bad day or headache or SOMETHING other than the fact that this is simply your nasty little pathetic personality. I am sooo tired of seeing people get slammed on this site for asking a question - yes there is a lot of information on this site - which sometimes makes it a little difficult to find answers to questions that might come up from time to time. I too have had questions from time to time, but I certainly don't ask them on here - it's NOT that I don't make "...good effort..." its BECAUSE of the overwhelming amount of information that is provided for one and secondly - sometimes; even when post are read - some people don't understand what they mean and need a little help - so if you can't or REFUSE to give a direct answer in a respectful manner....why don't you just MOVE ON to another post vs being a complete jacka$$ such as you have done in this instance?????? Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!!
  2. THANK YOU...FOR A MINUTE THERE I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE OR SOMETHING. There will not be a period of "freezing" dinar purchases - it will just be purchased at the updated rate when ever that might be.
  3. Rich soldiers or not, they are soldiers and they are under contract with our government. I am a mother of 2 and fill in mom to fifteen or more and I know that a good bit of them have it; and obtained it in different ways being brought back from deployment, sent home while on deployment and or purchased in the us just like most of us in this forum have. I am not familiar with military being excluded from being able to invest in foreign currency Iraqi dinar or others.
  4. being put on registry....something worth researching during our time of waiting. Thanks for the post - if I figure anything out/find any info I will share

  9. Does anyone else see the mention of "deleting zeros" more than anything else in this article???? It seems to be the main focus, does that NOT scare anyone?
  10. It's really hard to even understand what you are saying.... REALY "REALY IS A SAW SUBJECT" The phrase is actually "SORE SUBJECT" "I'M NOT TO FUST WHAT HAPPENS" ??? "THERES" = THEY'RE "ON HEAR" = ON HERE SOMETHINK = SOMETHING IT CAN BE A TOUGH CROWD IN HERE AT TIMES...IJS
  11. Shouldn't be considered immoral; investing in foreign currency is a legitimate (not always profitable) investment practiced all over the world - maybe I am wrong about that but that is what I have been told.
  12. thanks for the post. I always appreciate your contributions and insight.
  13. continuing to urge them to move this along is so necessary, but seriously.....how much urging is it going to take before someone finally stomps their foot and says; "HEY the new PM is Mr. Blah Blah Blah and that's that, zip it, I don't want to hear another word or argument - you all couldn't make a decision and move forward so now it's been done FOR you, not BY YOU!!! ehhhh, I SAID ZIP IT!!!! "
  14. Good Post - thank you for sharing it. One thing that bothers me is this...this was posted today (9/28/2010) but the date of the article (used the link) is dated yesterday which means they should have chosen someone today (9/28/2010) right? But isn't their day already over? I just hope it is soon : )
  15. If you click on the link to the story from the xe.com site your link takes you to then you will see this story is dated Feb-6 2010; when the story hit the internet - somewhere along the way someone found another story to contradict this one about the dropping of zeroes. I have copied and pasted the story from the link on the xe.com site - look at the date. Iraqi dinars are stacked at a teller's window in a Najaf bank. February 06, 2010 BAGHDAD --The Iraqi Central Bank is planning to redenominate the national currency in an effort to ease transactions and allow people to carry less paper money, RFE/RL's Radio Free Iraq (RFI) reports. Mudhhir Muhammad Salih, a member of a Central Bank advisory panel, told RFI that a plan has been made to remove three zeros from the currency and phase out the current banknotes late this year. Salih said by the end of 2010 the new banknotes will be fully introduced while the old banknotes will be gradually removed from circulation. He did not specify when the new notes would be issued. Both will be legal tender in Iraq until the old notes are completely withdrawn. Iraqi officials have had a long-running plan to redenominate the Iraqi dinar. In 2006, the Finance Ministry recommended to the Central Bank that it carry out such a plan. Salih pointed out that banks are having a hard time accepting cash savings and deposits, but by dropping the zeros it will make it easier for both the banks to deal with their customers and for the general public to carry money. He said some 80 percent of Iraq's money supply is cash in circulation. Salih added that in 1990 the value of banknotes in circulation was about 25 billion Iraqi dinars but is currently some 25 trillion dinars. Economic analyst Hilal al-Tahhan told RFI that the bank's move is overdue. He said he expects the currency change to go smoothly because of the decision to allow both the old and new banknotes to coexist, leading to less turbulence in the economy. The current exchange rate is 1,167 Iraqi dinars to the U.S. dollar.
  16. Forced them to make a decision or keep military forces in place until it was DONE. I am a mother of 3 and both of my boys (daughter still in HS) have served in this war; so I understand having a kid or loved one over there - we want them HOME SAFE, and the sooner the better, but I just don't understand why the troops were pulled out before the government was established...all these years of war, all the innocent lives lost, all of our military lives (all military) lost yet, the majority of the troops are pulled out before the finish line can be reached - IMO, it's dangerous for the people of iraq (with increased violence) as well as the few military troops still over there. I have prayed more since the pull out of the majority of the troops then I think I have the entire time this war has been going on. JMO
  17. Chief V - THANK YOU for your opinion - for welcoming the bashing (even though no one should be subjected for posting their opinion, especially when ASKED for it) I appreciate your input and look forward to more insight from you and the others in this forum for the remainder of this ride. Thanks again.
