My problem with the speculation that the dinar will "slowly rise in value" is the exact same as [name your news channel] that Company X has a stock price of $1 but we will raise that price to $1000 over a year with a 100% guarantee. Who would be dumb enough to not sink every single penny they have into it, and continue doing so until it hits the highest level it can get at which time we all cash out at once. You just wouldn’t do that in a stock market, so why would you do it in a governmental economy? Hey, I am a computer guy, not a financial guy, but this strategy just doesn’t make sense to me. I feel like they will either make $1000 = $1 with the dreaded LOP or they will do what we all really hope and make $1000 = $1000. About the same thing will happen with an RV, we will all cash out, but the number of investors to pay out would be significantly lower with an instant RV rather than a gradual raise.

It may be just me but is anyone else concerned about the dinars you hold being termed counterfeit and thus CBI not having to honor them?

10000000% agree with ya there! This thing made me lose a LOT of sleep years back..now it’s just annoying haha. Thank God I never told my wife I sunk some money in this. I will agree we keep hitting new "cool" moments like their election (then had to wait 9 months for the loser to win), the UN meeting in December (that left CH 7 still in place in part), the June protection lifting (that got extended), etc. etc. etc. I, like all of you guys, just want to see some progress, but I am unsure these clowns will ever get it done on their own. So, I think a large number of us should move to Iraq and try to get elected, and should any of us get it, push this bad boy through already!

I would love to hear Shabibi (sp?) saying some of these things, but this Saleh fella, unless I have my names mixed up, isnt he the guy that comes out and says just about everything under the sun, most of which contradicts what he said a few days prior?

Am I the only one that remembers just about every word out of this guy's mouth was proved to be inaccurate at best, a lie at worst? I pray every day that this comes, and not just for me. But whenever I see this guy's name as the source, I usually just move on.

Didnt he also say "Imminent" back on Dec 15ish? I, like everyone here, pray that this hits, and hits right dang now!!! This could have a grain of truth to it. Doing a quick currency converter search on Google, I found that 1260 US dollars = 104,277.6 Japanese yen. I dont know how much people bought dinars for 7 years ago, but I know they were cheaper. It could be that this started as fact or close to it, and over the years the numbers and currency type has changed. Just something to consider.

As protests near Saudi borders, king offers money I would love to get some opinions about this. My hope is that Iraq may see a way out to RV sooner than the clowns would otherwise do. If the money offered by Saudi Arabia quells uprest, maybe Iraq will do the same thing with an RV to "give money" to the people.

Hillarious is too busy trying to get us into a 3rd war with Libia (setting up no fly zones) to care about Iraq anymore. The long and short of it is, the $100 was stolen to begin with - the traveler did not "loan" the motel owner the money, it was taken without his knowledge/permission. This is the exact same way that the stimulus worked. They stole 1 trillion dollars to pay off their debts for the election. In the real world there is absolutely no way to break even and using th example above, the traveler would have watched his money dissapear and then somehow have to pay the motel owner (who stole it in the first place remember) interest on the money that was stolen.

Here's a thought! Revalue the money so they can HIRE mercs to keep the peace if they need, and let our boys and girls get home to safety. At some point they will have to stand as a country on their own. I think in the long run, taking Iraq from a dictatorship to a democracy will be a great thing, but I do not agree with the us being the police force for the world.

He is likely about burnt out. I know I get that way often. There is only so much of my life I can spend looking at this stuff not moving before I feel like I have been the victim of a vampire. Doc and others spend/spent WAY more time than me at this, so I can imagine it being even worse for them.

I have wondered, wouldnt it be just grand, if a large portion of the money we borrowed from China was put into dinars, and thus when the RV hit, we could pay them buggers off overnight. But more than likely, we will see any increase as a chance to add 5 billion more social programs, and in just a short time, that money would be gone.
